Emma has become a highly requested team member by many of our NDIS participants and it’s easy to see why. She takes the time to truly get to know each individual she supports, building genuine connections based on trust, respect, and understanding.

Emma consistently delivers person-centred support, tailoring her approach to meet the unique needs, goals, and preferences of every participant. Her compassion, patience, and dedication make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she works with each day.

We are so proud of our participant, Caitlin for her incredible achievement last month. Caitlin was the keynote speaker at Down Syndrome and Intellectual Disability Queensland’s World Down Syndrome Day breakfast, where she spoke beautifully on the theme “Together Against Loneliness.” She shared a powerful message about the importance of connection, what keeps her positive, and what truly matters in her life.
Her courage, confidence, and authenticity shone through in her presentation, and she did a wonderful job. Caitlin, you are an inspiration and we couldn’t be prouder ✨

We have collaborated with Sheldon College to host Year 10 work placement, and what a fantastic experience it was!

It was great to give them a behind-the-scenes look at our industry, share insights into day-to-day operations, and talk about the skills and pathways that can lead to a successful career. Their curiosity, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn made the experience just as rewarding for us as it was for them.

Supporting the next generation and helping students connect classroom learning with real-world experience is something we’re truly passionate about. We look forward to seeing where their journeys take them!

Important Policy Update from Star Disability Support.
Effective immediately, all staff and participants must take a compulsory 1-hour nap between 1:00pm – 2:00pm daily. 🛌
Research shows that a well-timed nap can boost mood, energy, and overall productivity… so we’re putting it to the test!
Pillows are encouraged, snoring is acceptable, and dream reports are optional 😄

On Saturday night we were invited to attend the Unsung Hero Gala.

The Unsung Hero Gala is a CEO singing competition that raises funds in support of unpaid family carers through The Carers Foundation Australia. Our friend Shelley from Magnus Health alone raised an incredible $65,270 for the foundation.

It was also a great opportunity to see providers come together to support one another, united by a shared commitment to making a difference. Throughout the evening, we were moved by a number of heartfelt and inspiring speeches that truly highlighted the impact of this important cause.

Support workers play such an important role in helping participants build real, meaningful friendships 🤍

We create the opportunity for friendships to grow. Whether it’s supporting someone to join a local group, try a new hobby, attend community events, or build confidence in social settings, support workers are there every step of the way.

The goal is always bigger than the shift. It’s about helping participants feel connected, included, and part of their community surrounded by people who choose to be in their lives.
