🌟 Science Fun in Middle Years! 🌟

Lots of excitement as students explored hands-on science provocations — chia seeds (a great slime alternative!), giant bubbles, glowing lava lamps, and tapioca experiments.

They loved discovering how different materials change shape and move when mixed, shaken, stretched, or stirred. 🧪✨

Fantastic learning, curiosity and sensory fun! 🌈🔬

During their Media Arts elective this semester, some of our Year ten students delved into representing settings in advertising. Their artworks, resulting from experimentation with media technologies, are impressive.

This raffle is a successful fundraiser for the P&C only because of the generous help and donations from students and the school community. We ask if you can, to please donate any items you are
able to that would be suitable to be included in one of these hamper prizes.
Below is a guide of some donation items that would be greatly appreciated but donations of any non perishable items are welcome.
Donations can be sent in with students or dropped off at the office by Monday 8th December.
• Early Years - Christmas Items - fruit mince pies, Christmas pudding, table decorations,
plates/cups/napkins, bonbons, tinned biscuits. Sticky tape. Tinsel / baubles. Christmas lights
• Middle Years- snacks- savoury biscuits & crackers, chips, Pringle's, pretzels, popcorn, nuts. Entertaining
trays/platters, plates and cups. Napkins.
• Junior Secondary- canned goods (for salads - beetroot/chickpeas, fruit for trifles) cordial,
soft drink, fruit juice, long life custard.
• Senior Secondary - sweets - lollies, chocolates, biscuits, choc biscuits. Fruit cake. Shortbread.
Candy canes. Gingerbread.
• Any students – grocery or gift vouchers, small gifts – card games/toys/games. Wrapping paper.

We are deeply grateful for the Redland Sporting Club's ongoing support through their annual fundraising initiatives. Their Charity Golf Day has raised $6500, which they have generously donated to our school.

The Redland Ravens played an outstanding game of basketball against our biggest competitors, Coomera Special School. The team played with passion and won the game 36-26. They had to fight all the way and put in 100% effort all game. Congratulations Ravens, watching you play is truly sensational! 👏🏻⭐️🥳

🌈 Colour Run Countdown – Final Week to Fundraise! 🌈

A huge thank you to our incredible families for the amazing effort you’ve already put into supporting this year’s Colour Run! 💛 Thanks to your energy, generosity and teamwork, we’ve already raised an incredible amount for our school.

There’s just one week left before fundraising closes on Thursday, 13 November, so let’s make this final stretch count! Every dollar goes straight back into resources and opportunities for our students.

This term in JSD, students consolidated their learning through final projects and assessments. We welcomed Cameron to RDSS—he’s settling in well! In English, students practised rhyming with hands-on sorting games and created PowerPoint slideshows about their favourite songs, exploring rhyme and figurative language. They proudly shared their work with each other.

For the school’s 50th anniversary, students compared technology from 1975, 2025, and imagined 2075, noticing how things change over time. The boys looked fantastic in their 1970s outfits! In Maths, they strengthened their understanding of data collection and representation by surveying peers on their ‘favourite things,’ recording results with tally marks, and making picture graphs to show the most and least popular choices.

Today was the final day of the 2025 Inter-School Boccia competition. We hosted Beenleigh Special School and had a fun and competitive game. The final score was 14-12 with the Redlands Team taking the win. It was a very close game.
The Redlands Team won all 4 Inter-School games this seasons and were crowned the Winners of 2025. Congratulations to our amazing Boccia team 🏆🥳⭐️
