It’s often when we’re stressed and busy, and when we feel like we don’t have enough time, that slowing down and taking a moment for ourselves becomes most valuable.

During a stressful day, it can be helpful to find moments of calm and stillness in activities you’re already going to do - like taking a grounding breath while you drive, eat, drink, shower or walk.

When we put language to how we’re feeling it can promote helpful strategies such as - processing context, seeing the situation from a different perspective, and problem solving (Vine, Bernstein & Nolen-Hoeksema, 2018).

“I can feel my stress container overflowing...”

On Sunday at our Lionhearted Life Series presentation, this phrase started our conversation about wellbeing. The way daily micro stressors - the emails, the notifications, the small tensions - quietly fill our capacity until we’re running on empty.

Everyone has their own unique “stress signature.” Those personal early warning signs that tell us we’re nearing overload, but we often ignore them.

At Dala, we help people see stress not as weakness, but as information. A signal that it’s time to pause.

Dala is a space for daily practices that remind our nervous system we’re safe: morning intentions, reflective journaling, and guided moments.
