I’m taking four weeks of leave following a planned surgery. 🫶🏼💐 I’m recovering well so far.

This will extend wait times a little but luckily, we have Kirby, our new VPC Speechie, looking after our clients while I’m away.

I won’t be checking emails but Belinda, our client support officer and organisational wizard will be passing along anything urgent.

You can contact her at support@laurakennedy.com.au. All new referrals will be triaged as they come in. Please text or email us if you need to change an appointment with Kirby.

Who knows… maybe this is a good time for me to batch some social media content once I’m able… 🤣🥳🤞🏼

Our voice is the instrument that lives within our body. I agree it may be the most difficult, as the voice is at the mercy of the conditions we place upon it (stress, fatigue, emotion, hydration, vocal load). In saying that, I would argue that Cello would be difficult, too...

I have news! There are a few changes happening around here... I'm so pleased to launch Vocal Performance Centre - your new centre for all things voice. I'm still providing the same services here in Meanjin/Brisbane and online.

Continuing professional and personal development is a non-negotiable for me. I was so excited to have the opportunity for one-on-one vocal coaching with a few weeks ago. Mindy is a SLP, celebrity vocal coach, and creator of the who was here from the US with for the Voice Summit Oz.

She helped me work on my contemporary sound. We talked about all things voice, speech pathology, and working with singers. I was able to add to my laryngeal massage and manual therapy toolkit as she is a licensed massage therapist too. I'm hoping she will be back again very soon. And she was so much fun!

Did you know, that I am a trained Yoga Instructor?

I often recommend commencing Yoga practice to complement vocal rehabilitation for my clients. I've personally experienced the benefits, but there is also research to support how yoga can positively impact your voice.
