During Play Therapy Week and as we celebrate Kylie Ellison Therapy & Training’s birthday, we wanted to pause and contribute thoughtfully to the conversation around play therapy in Australia.

Play therapy is a powerful, evidence-informed modality — and it also sits within a complex and evolving professional landscape. Rather than positioning one pathway over another, this post aims to clarify the current Australian context, support ethical representation, and encourage informed, respectful dialogue.

As a profession, we are strongest when we:
