People often talk about vision impairment in terms of what you can or can’t see, but they rarely talk about the emotional side of it.
Living with a vision impairment means constantly adapting, staying strong when things feel overwhelming and carrying on even when the world isn’t designed for you.
It’s the mental load people don’t see. The extra planning. The fear of getting it wrong. The exhaustion of having to explain yourself again and again.
If this is you, please hear this. You are doing incredibly well. Your strength shows up in the smallest everyday choices and you deserve the same kindness you give to everyone else.
Today is your reminder that your mental health matters just as much as your independence and your resilience.
