The Nic MacBean Cup

The Nic MacBean Cup The Nic MacBean Cup is an annual cricket game played in honour of Nic MacBean. All funds raised on the day and in the lead up go to beyondblue.

The Nic MacBean Cup was born in 2016 to honour our great mate, Nic, who sadly passed away in 2015 after a long battle with mental illness. Annually the Nic MacBean All Stars take on the Brisbane Boys' College XI side in a T20 format cricket match. This year's event will be held on the 24th of November from 1pm at Brisbane Boys' College.

Another hugely successful Nic MacBean Cup held in memory of a true Gentleman of Honour - Old Collegian, Nic MacBean.

Nic embodied the spirit of cricket in his everyday life - commitment, respect, community, and accountability - and his spirit was alive and well in this friendly competition between current BBC cricket players and Old Collegians.

This special day is a celebration of brotherhood and a legacy that lives on.

This 2024 Nic MacBean Cup will be held on the 28th of November from 1pm at Brisbane Boys' College (BBC).

All funds raised this year will go to Movember Australia.

Joshua's Motivation: In 2015 one of my closest friends took his own life after a decade of battling depression. I am motivated to raise both awareness and money for charities that support those with depression and anxiety to hopefully prevent the su***de rate of young male adults in Australia.
