Christmas may have passed, but it’s not too late to make an impact.
For children with hearing loss, the gift of sound doesn’t end on 25th December; it continues with every new word spoken, every laugh heard, every moment of connection made possible through early intervention and hearing technology.
Families like Marlee and Pippa’s know what a life-changing difference that support brings. Before the year wraps up, you can help children across Queensland listen, speak and thrive.
It’s not too late to turn up the joy for children with hearing loss.

⛰️ Climbing Australia’s 15 highest peaks in one day… all to support children with hearing loss💙

On 9 January, Stuart and Paul are taking on a massive challenge: summiting 15 peaks in 24 hours to raise $15,000 for Hear and Say – that’s $1,000 for every mountain.

For Stuart, it’s personal. His sons, Archie and Ollie, were both born profoundly deaf. Thanks to their cochlear implants and the support of Hear and Say, they’re now thriving in a world full of sound. 🦋

You can help Stuart and Paul reach their goal and change the lives of more children.

Donate and be part of their climb.

Christmas is almost here, a time filled with laughter, music, and the sounds that make this season feel magical.
When Marlee was diagnosed with profound hearing loss in one ear and moderate–severe loss in the other, her family stepped into a world they never expected. With no roadmap and so many unknowns, Hear and Say became their guide. Just before her first birthday, Marlee received bilateral cochlear implants, opening her world to sound and possibility.
Today, at four years old, Marlee is thriving. She listens, communicates, and fills rooms with joy. Little sister Pippa now joins her at Hear and Say, too, supported to build her own connection to sound and language.
This Christmas, you can help make moments like these possible.
Donate today and turn up the joy for children with hearing loss, just like Marlee and Pippa.

Meet Greer, one of our Paediatric Audiologists at Hear and Say, who has supported sisters Marlee and Pippa since Marlee was just four months old.

Because their hearing loss was identified early, both girls received hearing technology right away, cochlear implants for Marlee, hearing aids for Pippa, along with personalised therapy to help them access sound, develop language, and grow into confident communicators. Early intervention isn’t just helpful, it’s vital. When children access sound in those critical first years, their brains have the best chance to develop listening and spoken language on par with their hearing peers. Marlee and Pippa are thriving proof of what early hearing support makes possible.

This Christmas, your donation can make an impact that lasts. Turn up the joy for children with hearing loss, just like Marlee and Pippa. Donate today at https://bit.ly/3MezqnH

When Marlee was diagnosed with significant hearing loss as a baby, her parents suddenly found themselves in a world they never expected, full of questions, uncertainty, and unfamiliar decisions.

Hear and Say stepped in to guide them through every step. From helping Marlee’s family understand her diagnosis to preparing for cochlear implants just before her first birthday, our team was there to open up a world of sound, connection, and possibility.

Now four years old, Marlee is thriving. She is bright, determined, and full of joy. Her little sister, Pippa, also attends Hear and Say as their family continues this journey together.

This Christmas, turn up the joy for children with hearing loss. Donate today and make an impact that lasts. 🎄💛

🎅 🎄 Our Ashgrove Hear and Say centre was full of joy earlier this week as we welcomed Santa for our end-of-year Playgroup celebration.

Each child received a new book to take home. A simple but important way to continue building their listening, language and early speech skills over the holidays.

A big thank you to our families for a wonderful year of learning, laughter and milestones. We can’t wait to see everyone again in 2026 ♥️ 💚

And the winner is… 🥁🎉💥

Congratulations to the unstoppable Yeppoon community, who have been officially crowned the 2025 Loudest Town, turning the volume all the way UP and raising an incredible $31,885 to support children with hearing loss!

Yeppoon got LOUD for someone very special – seven-year-old Charlotte, a local legend who lost her hearing overnight at just two years old after a common cold. After months of silence, a cochlear implant and support from Hear and Say helped Charlotte learn to listen again – all while staying in her hometown thanks to telehealth and specialist services for regional families.

Yeppoon, you’ve proven once again that regional Queensland knows how to show up, rally together, and make some SERIOUS noise for a good cause.

Thank you for helping ensure more families like the Rivetts have the chance to listen, speak and thrive! Until next year!

💙We are so grateful to the members of Quota Wynnum Manly who joined us for Morning Tea at our Ashgrove Centre on Thursday.
These extraordinary ladies and their colleagues raised $15,000 for our Child Championship program through their annual auction on 20 September at the Waterloo Bay Leisure Centre at Wynnum 🙌
Their generous and long-term support for our services to children with hearing loss and their families started in 1993, the year after Hear and Say was established.

We also extend thanks to the many Quota Clubs throughout Queensland and Northern NSW who continue to provide outstanding support to Hear and Say!!

🥳 It was wonderful to see Michael Whitby’s Deaflympics journey highlighted on the news a few days ago, along with his reunion with long-time Hear and Say supporter Wally Lewis.

We’re sending all our good wishes to Michael as he dives into competition 🏊

What a way to turn up the volume! 🎉

October may be wrapped, but we’re still cheering from all the excitement of Loud Shirt Day! Across Queensland, 173 incredible participants came together to raise over $310,000! We had Golf and Bowls Days, Lunches, BBQs, Auctions, Raffles, Loud Shirt Days at schools, an Art Show and much more. We were also proud to have 17 towns taking part in the battle for the title of Loudest Town.

Every bright shirt, every dollar raised, and every conversation started helps give the gift of sound and changes lives for people with hearing loss.

From all of us at Hear and Say, thank you for getting LOUD and turning up the volume for kids with hearing loss! 💥👕
