1. The first few days are uncomfortable.
Your body is adjusting and beginning the healing process ~ rest up and follow post-op instructions.
2. Swelling takes time to settle.
What you see in the mirror early on isn’t your final result. Patience is key.
3. Support garments are NOT optional.
They reduce swelling, help your body adjust and support the healing tissues.
4. Scars are part of the process.
Surgical scaring is common. They do generally soften and fade with time and proper care.
5. Healing isn’t just physical.
Give yourself grace to feel the emotional ups and downs of recovery and body changes.
Dr Belt and his team are here to guide you every step of the way from your first enquiry to detailed scar management advice and more. For support that extends past surgery day, get in touch at https://www.paulbelt.com.au/contact_us
