There was a changing of the guard at today’s REIQ AGM as your peak body bid farewell to outgoing Chair and Director Peter Brewer after serving on the Board for 10 years, with CEO Antonia Mercorella thanking him for his passionate commitment to the REIQ and Queensland real estate profession.

During the meeting, Laura Valenti was re-elected as Female Director and Darren Cole was newly elected as General Member Director.

Laura’s re-election reflects the membership’s confidence in her leadership and dedication over the past six years while Darren will bring a fresh set of eyes and new thinking to the Board as an owner and director of an independent office in the Bayside area with over 23 years’ experience in the real estate sector.

The new REIQ Chair was announced with Director Peter Camphin taking the reins of the Board.

Peter has more than 45 years' experience in real estate both domestically and internationally, working across a diverse range of property management and sales roles, having owned multiple real estate businesses, held positions in governance and advisory, and directed state and national franchising operations across Australia and New Zealand as the former CEO of Ray White Queensland, along with subsequent ventures in finance brokering.

Additionally, the AGM saw the appointment of David Snow as an REIQ Life Member. David is a respected Toowoomba real estate professional and REIQ Fellow who has been recognised for a lifetime of outstanding service to the profession.
