This year’s Remembrance Day service at the Lives Lived Well Veterans’ and Families’ Wellbeing Hubs in both Adelaide and Caboolture were a heartfelt tribute to those who have served and sacrificed.

Held on Tuesday, 11 November, the service brought our community together in reflection and respect. The morning began with an Acknowledgment of Traditional Owners, followed by moving tributes from WO2 Dale and Veteran Bill Bates, who read “In Flanders Fields.” Guests were then invited to lay rosemary near the wreath — a powerful symbol of remembrance.

At 11am, the minute’s silence united everyone in quiet reflection.

After the service, guests shared coffee and stories, a beautiful reminder of connection, gratitude, and community.

Lest we forget.

Healing is something we all need, something we’ve all done, and something we’ll all do again 💚

During Wellness Week, our Wyla team joined Gan'na Healing, designed and delivered by Lukas Williams, a national motivational speaker and Indigenous health advocate, for a cultural practice focused on connecting with past, present, and future experiences.

Our clients shared:
“I never knew that my abuse is trauma.”

“It was cool to connect trauma with our neurological make up.”

“I feel like the Smoking helped cleanse my pain.”

The sessions included traditional tools, cultural songs and dance, and a smoking ceremony at Lake Canobolas, creating moments of deep reflection and unity.

This experience reminded us that true healing is both cultural and collective, and that it has the power to change lives🧡

“I entered the Mirikai program a broken person. Most of my family and friends had cut me off, I was basically homeless, and jail looked like the most likely outcome.”

They’d almost given up, nothing felt worth the effort. Our program was their last shot at turning things around. Then something simple happened: a warm hello from staff who listened.

“They reminded me that I wasn't as horrible as I thought I was.”

Slowly, the fog started to lift. Small, steady steps turned into real progress.

“Learned that challenging days are part of the journey. I’m grateful for Mirikai and for everything this program has given me: hope, growth, and a future worth striving for.” 💙

Recovery isn’t neat or quick, but there’s always hope, and people ready to walk beside you. 💚

🚗 Last month, Nathan and Teresa from our Gold Coast Community Counselling team hit the road to Port Macquarie to deliver the Drug and Alcohol First Aid training and made some great new connections with local community service staff.

Of course, no road trip is complete without a few fun stops! They took time to enjoy some iconic landmarks — the Akubra factory, the Big Lawn Bowl, the Big Banana, and the Big Prawn 🍌🦐

“While our main focus was on delivering workshops and sharing our expertise to strengthen community knowledge around AOD, we also believe it’s important to take time to appreciate the beauty of our country and learn about the character of our sister cities along the way,” Teresa shared.

Our eighth annual Wellness Week has officially wrapped up!

From relaxing beach walks to heart-racing laser tag chasing, we loved seeing all the fun activities and moments of connection across our teams.

Wellness Week is a reminder to pause, breathe, and prioritise one’s wellbeing.

At Lives Lived Well, it doesn’t stop there! Wellbeing matters every day, not just when it’s on the calendar.

As we wrap up LGBTQI+ History Month, we celebrate the powerful intersection of culture, identity, and resilience - recognising the deep roots of q***r history within First Nations communities 🌈

Long before colonisation, gender diversity and fluidity were embraced across many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Terms like Sistergirls and Brotherboys reflect this enduring strength, affirming that gender diversity is not new, but deeply woven into our oldest living cultures. 💚

Despite the disruption caused by colonisation, Indigenous LGBTQI+ people have continued to lead, heal, and reclaim their stories. Trailblazers like Malcolm Cole, who made history at the 1988 Sydney Mardi Gras, and contemporary leaders such as Troy-Anthony Baylis and Todd Fernando, remind us that identity and pride are acts of resilience.

As we close this month, we honour the legacy of those who came before and continue to walk proudly today, across every culture, every generation, and every identity. 💙💚

“I had been dependent on drugs for over 20 years. Addiction had taken everything from me. I was lost, anxious, and depressed.”

To this client, life had become unmanageable, and fitting into society no longer seemed possible. 🟩

That was until they turned to Logan House, where change began.

“Logan House showed me how to live free from drugs and harmful behaviours.”

During their time in the program, they slowly began to rebuild, finding stability, strength, and self-belief.

“Today, I have hope, dreams, goals, and happiness. I’ve been able to repair family relationships, improve my financial situation, and build a strong support network.”

A life that once felt unmanageable now holds a bright future to look forward to. 💙

Our Mackay team proudly joined the community for the Run for MI Life event, standing together to support Su***de Prevention Awareness. 💛

The event offered opportunities to build connections and start conversations.

They also had a chat with community members, shared information about how we can help, and promoted messages of hope.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by our stall, had a chat, and joined the movement for mental health and su***de prevention.
