🚜 AgForce welcomes the official start of construction on the first project under the $500 million Queensland Beef Corridors Program
This is a major win for Central Queensland producers and the broader beef supply chain. Years of collaboration between local councils, industry, and the Queensland Beef Corridors group have delivered a long-term strategy to seal and upgrade the freight routes our industry depends on.
The $47.5 million early works package begins with sealing a priority section of the Clermont–Alpha Road, with upgrades also planned for:
• Alpha–Tambo Road
• Fitzroy Developmental Road
• May Downs Road
These are high-traffic cattle routes that have carried the cost of poor conditions for far too long.
AgForce Cattle strongly supports this program and acknowledges the joint commitment from the Australian Government ($400M) and Queensland Government ($100M). Improving these corridors will:
✅ Strengthen supply chains
✅ Reduce transport delays
✅ Improve safety
✅ Build long-term industry resilience
Producers in Central Queensland move more than $1.7 billion in freight each year 🚚
Better roads mean better efficiency, fewer lost hours, and safer conditions for truck drivers, station teams, and regional communities.
This is a welcome start to a 10-year plan that will deliver real, practical gains for the beef industry.
