Further relief is on the way to disaster-affected landholders, with the Qld Government automatically deferring land rent payments for those recovering from the North Qld Monsoon Trough, ex-Tropical Cyclone Koji and associated severe weather 🌧️
A 12-month rent deferral will apply to eligible state land tenure holders across several North and Central Qld communities, providing much-needed breathing room for landholders as recovery efforts continue.

🌧️ Disaster hardship assistance activated for Bundaberg, Douglas and Banana
Flood-impacted residents in targeted areas can now access emergency payments to help cover essentials like food, clothing and medicine, with grants of $180 per person or up to $900 for families.
Additional support, including home repair grants and assistance for councils and not-for-profits, is also available.
🚜 AgForce is warning that disruptions to global supply chains are already affecting farmers’ ability to access fuel and fertiliser - critical inputs needed to keep farms operating.
“If the tractors and the trucks stop running, the shelves at the supermarket will be empty,” said AgForce General President Shane McCarthy.
Australia’s agriculture industry has long warned about the risks of relying heavily on imported fuel and fertiliser. Strengthening fuel reserves and domestic manufacturing will be critical to protecting our long-term food security.
AgForce is working with the National Farmers' Federation and government representatives to raise these concerns and support farmers facing shortages.

⛽ AgForce responding to emerging fuel and fertiliser supply concerns.
Today AgForce Commodity Presidents and Regional Directors met with the CEO, Regional Managers and policy team to discuss real-world experiences from Queensland producers around fuel and fertiliser supply.
Key insights from across the state include:
• Supply shortages being reported in multiple regions
• Impacts increasing further away from Brisbane
• Rationing already occurring in some smaller towns
• Serious animal welfare concerns if producers cannot access fuel when needed
• Rapid price increases, with some areas reporting rises of up to 14 cents per day
What AgForce is doing:
✔️ Ongoing engagement with state and federal governments and the National Farmers’ Federation to escalate producer concerns and identify solutions
✔️ Advocating for agriculture to be treated as an essential service for fuel supply alongside defence, hospitals and schools

⚠️ Food and fibre production at risk as fuel and fertiliser supply tightens.
AgForce is raising concerns about disruptions to global fuel and fertiliser supply linked to the ongoing Middle East conflict.
Farmers rely on these critical inputs every day - from harvesting crops to preparing for winter planting. Without fuel and fertiliser, farm operations slow or stop, impacting the food supply Australians depend on.
AgForce Grains President, Brendan Taylor, said producers were facing these fuel distribution challenges at a critical time in the farming calendar.
“With farmers across the state either harvesting summer crops, or preparing for winter planting, we’re in a period of high demand for fuel and fertiliser,” said Mr Taylor.
