We were honoured to welcome Jennifer Pigoga Hart, PhD, Clinical Research Consultant for the World Health Organization, to the Qlicksmart office this month.

We had to saw the neck of a glass ampoule with a tiny metal file. Then we had to snap it open with our bare fingers.

Half the time it broke perfectly. The other half? It shattered, and you sliced your thumb open.

We bandaged it up and kept going.

The numbers speak for themselves. Most sharps injuries in the chart came from glass ampoules, NSIs, and scalpel blades (Hambridge et al., 2024).
