When we intentionally cultivate mahalo, we anchor ourselves in what is good, true, and nourishing, and that gratitude naturally expands our capacity to live with aloha. It softens the edges of our day, opens our hearts to connection, and shifts the way we show up for others.

As we enter a new week, we invite you to gently ask yourself: Where can I weave ALOHA into the ordinary moments of my everyday life?

Aloha is the Hawaiian understanding of unconditional love in action — a living force of compassion, presence, respect, connection and breath. It becomes real through lived choices, not just philosophy.

Aloha doesn’t need to be grand or ceremonial — it is expressed through the small moments: softening your tone, choosing a kinder word, pausing before reacting, honouring your body, slowing your breath, offering presence, and treating yourself with the same compassion you offer others. These small acts shift energy — for you, and for everyone you come into connection with.

You may want to set a simple intention for the week ahead:
Choose one act of Aloha each day.
 Let this be your practice. Let it be tangible. Let it be real.
 This is how Aloha grows — from the inside out.

Choosing Aloha is choosing unconditional love as your guiding compass.

In Hawaiian understanding, aloha and pono are inseparable — aloha is the energy and vibration of love, and pono is the expression of that love through right action, right relationship, alignment, balance, and integrity.

When we choose aloha within ourselves, it naturally guides us toward choices that are pono.

We are always moving between two states: ALOHA (expansion, flow, openness) and PILIKIA (contraction, tension, disharmony). Pilikia is not a failure — it is simply information. It shows us when we have drifted from our centre. The practice is to notice where we are, feel it honestly, and choose again.

Living pono means choosing what aligns you with aloha — even when it requires boundaries, change, or discomfort in the short term.

When you choose what supports your truth, your wellbeing, your peace — your aloha becomes stronger, clearer, and more embodied. This is how aloha flows into your life, your relationships, your work, and your service. 🌺

We choose to prioritise our wellbeing, and set boundaries that protect our energy with love—not fear.

When we meet ourselves with tenderness, patience, and respect… aloha expands.

From this place, we stand rooted. We move from centre.

THE BLISSTITUTE OF LIVING ALOHA LOGO is inspired by the golden ratio, or Fibonacci spiral — a sacred pattern found throughout nature, from the spirals of shells and galaxies to the unfurling of ferns. It reflects the natural harmony and intelligence that flow through all of life.

In our logo, the spiral is repeated four times, representing the four levels of being we honour in Lomilomi and in life: Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual.

Each spiral mirrors the way we work with people — recognising that healing and growth arise when all parts of ourselves come into alignment and harmony.

The four spirals are interwoven to form a heart, symbolising Aloha — the spirit of unconditional love, connection, and compassion. This heart reminds us that Aloha is both the foundation and the guiding force of true healing.

Mahalo Nui to the ‘āina of the sovereign kingdom of Hawaii. I am beyond grateful to have spent the past two months talking story & breathing in the powerful mana on Kauai, the Big Island, Maui & Oahu. Since returning to Naarm, Melbourne, I have often found I have no words for the intricate beauty of these phenomenal, powerful islands. Maybe some words about my own journey will have to do for now…
