📢 2026 Early Childhood Education Policy Update

From January 2026, individuals holding a Diploma in Early Childhood Education with a Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate (GD/GC) will no longer meet Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) registration requirements in New South Wales and South Australia.

The update relates to teacher registration, not skills assessment
No changes have been announced by ACECQA at this stage
Requirements differ by state, with clearer changes in NSW and SA

✨ 2025–26 State Nomination Allocations Released
Most states have reduced their quotas this year, but Queensland and the Northern Territory are welcoming more places than before.

After months of anticipation, the Department has officially released the full allocations for each state and territory. Overall quotas have decreased by around 22.5%, and many states experienced noticeable reductions.

However, Queensland stands out this year, with a significant increase of 1,400 additional spots, and the 190 program tripling compared to last year. The NT has also received a boost.
