✨ 2025–26 State Nomination Allocations Released
Most states have reduced their quotas this year, but Queensland and the Northern Territory are welcoming more places than before.

After months of anticipation, the Department has officially released the full allocations for each state and territory. Overall quotas have decreased by around 22.5%, and many states experienced noticeable reductions.

However, Queensland stands out this year, with a significant increase of 1,400 additional spots, and the 190 program tripling compared to last year. The NT has also received a boost.

πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί Below is the breakdown for the 2025–26 program year:

New South Wales
βœ… Subclass 190: 2,100
βœ… Subclass 491: 1,500

Victoria
βœ… Subclass 190: 2,700
βœ… Subclass 491: 700

Queensland
βœ… Subclass 190: 1,850
βœ… Subclass 491: 750

Western Australia
βœ… Subclass 190: 2,000
βœ… Subclass 491: 1,400

South Australia
βœ… Subclass 190: 1,350
βœ… Subclass 491: 900

ACT (Canberra)
βœ… Subclass 190: 800
βœ… Subclass 491: 800

Tasmania
βœ… Subclass 190: 1,200
βœ… Subclass 491: 650

Northern Territory
βœ… Subclass 190: 850
βœ… Subclass 491: 800

Although Queensland’s numbers have increased, we still expect competition to remain strong across all states.

πŸ“£ Australia Student Visa Update β€” New Processing Priorities

Starting 14 November 2025, offshore student visa applications will be assessed under three priority groups.

🎯 What You Need to Know:
This update does NOT reduce visa places or approval rates. It only changes how applications are ordered and processed.

πŸ”Ž New Processing Priority Levels (from Nov 2025):
1️⃣ Priority 1 – Estimated processing time: 1–4 weeks
For institutions that are under 80% of their international student allocation, plus:
School students
Non-award / short-term exchange
Standalone ELICOS
TAFE students
Pilot training courses
Master by Research & PhD
Government- or foreign government-sponsored students
Students from Pacific nations & Timor-Leste
Transnational education programs
Under-18 subsequent entrants

2️⃣ Priority 2 – Estimated processing time: 5–8 weeks
Institutions that have reached 80% of their allocation
Subsequent entrants where the application does not include a minor

3️⃣ Priority 3 – Estimated processing time: 9–12 weeks
Schools that have exceeded 115% of their international student allocation

πŸ’‘ Planning Tips: Apply early if you’re aiming for high-ranking universities. Consider your goals, budget, preferred study pathway, coursework vs research, and career outcomes before choosing a provider.

✨ Magical (and Unreal) Places in Australia ✨

From pink lakes and white-sand beach to wave rock and underground towns, Australia is full of places that look too magical to be real.

🌊 The Great Ocean Road, VIC
Coastal cliffs, winding roads, and the famous Twelve Apostles at sunset.

🏝️ Whitsundays, QLD
74 islands with turquoise water and white sand, straight out of a postcard.

🏜️ Uluru/Ayers Rock, NT
Australia’s red-heart icon glowing under sunrise and sunset skies.

πŸ”οΈ Mount Wellington, TAS
Panoramic views over Hobart and the clouds below.

🌊 Wave Rock, WA
A stone wave frozen in motion, surrounded by wildflowers in spring.

🌈 Lake Macdonnell, SA
Half pink, half blue, a natural contrast you have to see to believe.

πŸ’§ Minyon Falls, NSW
Hidden in Byron’s rainforest, the sound and view of falling water makes the hike worth it.

⛏️ Coober Pedy, SA
An underground town built to escape desert heat, truly one of a kind.

Which of these unreal spots would you visit first? πŸ’Leave a comment!
