Stockyards & Stethoscopes: RDAQ 2026 in Cairns!

Ready for an unforgettable weekend of rural medicine? TROHPIQ is offering eight subsidised student positions for the 37th RDAQ Annual Conference in Cairns this June!

• When: Thursday, June 25 – Saturday, June 27, 2026
• Where: Pullman Cairns International
• The Deal: Successful applicants receive $550 from RDAQ plus TROHPIQ funding toward registration
• Highlights: Clinical workshops, networking with rural doctors, and the chance to represent in The Great Debate

CQUMS and TROPHIQ are hosting a joint social afternoon at Innes Park Reserve, and we’d love to see all Bundaberg MD and CQU students there.

It’s a great chance to get outdoors, play some beach sports, and catch up with everyone.

Medical Skills Day

Want to build confidence in your clinical skills or get some extra DOPS practice? Join TROHPIQ and UQOnc for Medical Skills Day, a hands-on workshop designed for Year 1 and 2 medical students to learn and practise key procedures in a supportive environment.

You’ll rotate through practical stations including:

🪡 Suturing
🚑 Emergency Scenario: BLS & CPR
💉 Cannulation & Venepuncture
🧬 Oncology Station (in collaboration with UQOnc)

Learn from GPs and experienced student volunteers while gaining practical experience and refining your procedural skills.

📅 Date & Time: 12th April, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📍 Location: RBWH Health Sciences Building, Level 3 & 4
👩‍⚕️ Who: MD1 & MD2 students
🎟 Cost: $10 members | $15 non-members

Bowties & Beauties Convenor: Lead our flagship gala, run the show, and raise vital funds for BUSHkids.
