All too often I STILL hear people complain about their stretches not getting them results.
Of course, stretching does work... but you need your muscles to be warm/full of blood first. Otherwise, you will break fibres causing a response in your body that repairs with scar tissue and, in fact, will see your muscles get even tighter.
What are you stretching? If it's your legs, do some body weight squats- start by doing 3, slowly, then do another 2 sets of whatever you are comfortable with.
An alternative is lengthening. Be careful though! It's very easy to get carried away and stretch by mistake.
*Note : I get carried away and distracted by shiny things very easily so... did I miss anything? Clarifiers?
