One thing that doesn't get talked about enough with knee osteoarthritis (OA): the role of inflammation.
OA isn't a mechanical problem (it used to be called "wear and tear" on a joint).
There's a whole-body inflammatory process involved, which is why things like sleep, stress, diet and weight all show up in the research as relevant.
It also means there are more levers to pull than most people realise.
Exercise, for instance, actually helps reduce inflammation — not just build strength.
Worth knowing you have more options than "rest it and wait".
