We know there are a quite a few Veteran service providers popping up, some offering free boots or massages or the chance to win a raffle if you hand over all your personal / DVA details.

Well there’s no free stuff in this post, just a genuine shout out about our business Peppermint Care which has been delivering DVA Community Nursing, DVA Attendant Care and DVA Veteran Home Care services across South East Queensland over the last several years (since 2017).
As our MRCA/DRCA Veterans are getting older the need for attendant care services (personal care and respite care) is increasing in line with the increasing needs of our VEA Veterans, at a time when the broader care workforce (across Aged Care and NDIS) is seriously under resourced and understaffed. So it is important to plan early, to determine your entitlement from DVA (the current and the incoming legislation from 1 July 2026 / grandfathering provisions), what services and supports you can access, and to find the right provider that can deliver for you over the coming years.
Preferentially employing former Defence Force medics, nursing officers and care workers the Peppermint Care team have been delivering and will continue to deliver for you Australia wide. Peppermint Care is a registered DVA Community Nursing provider and DVA Veteran Home Care provider as well as being fully registered for NDIS care and nursing services. Our staff are properly qualified RNs, ENs, AINs and Cert III Care workers. Do not trust your care to organisations that are not qualified, registered or experienced and double check who your medical centre, assessor or allied health provider is referring you to and why (if you’re not sure check with us and we will make sure you are able to access transparent information about your services and your service providers).
