I do like this idea. No waste, no additives.

🧅 Homemade Onion Powder 🧅
After peeling a few onions and garlic bulbs to freeze, I didn't want to waste the skins.
After washing and patting dry, I laid it all out in a baking dish with some added ginger peel.
I also left in some parts of onion flesh and a few garlic cloves.
Baked at a low temp (150 degrees) for a couple of hours (maybe 3hrs), checking and gently stirring about every 30 minutes.
Don't be tempted to increase the temp. You want to dry it out, not cook it.
Stirring to keep bringing the heavier parts to the top of the pile to dry out and so that the lighter parts don't burn.
Once cooled, I milled on speed 10 for 1 minute, scraped down and repeated for another minute.
There was still a little bit of moisture in the powder so I spread it out on a tray overnight then milled again, speed 10, 1 minute until it was a fine powder.
✅️ Homemade
✅️ no waste
✅️ no anti caking agents or fillers
✅️ natural, fresher and more potent
✅️ antioxidants to fight inflammation, boost immunity and help regulate blood sugar
Great to add to any dish for some flavour and depth.
I also used my jam funnel to pour it into the jar.
