Dear BPFP Families and Supporters,
One of the biggest challenges facing community sporting clubs today is securing the support of valued volunteers.
Many clubs now pay their coaches and managers, and even canteens are often operated by external caterers, with clubs receiving a percentage of profits. While this model works for some organisations, the Brisbane Paralympic Football Program (BPFP) has been incredibly fortunate over the years to have dedicated volunteers who believe in what we do and generously give their time.
As we approach our 20th year, we are beginning to feel the same pressures many clubs are facing â particularly when it comes to supporting our junior participants.
We are proud to provide inclusive physical activity opportunities for juniors. However, to ensure we can continue delivering a safe and sustainable program, we now need a little assistance from our community.
We kindly ask that:
Parents (Mum or Dad) consider assisting where possible, even occasionally.
If a support worker accompanies a participant, they apply as a volunteer so we can ensure all insurance policies and safeguarding requirements are properly covered.
The BPFP will always do its very best to support and accommodate all participants and their families. However, from time to time, we may need assistance from families or support workers to ensure the program can continue into the future.
If you feel you could help â even once in a while â please reach out. Your support truly makes a difference.
Kind regards,
Jay
