MACKAY ALERT! Come cheer our MND heroes as they return from their epic 220KM one-day ride for the Moranbah to Mackay Ride for MND on Sat 23 July.

The ride is expected to raise a MASSIVE amount of money to provide essential supports and services to families impacted by Motor Neurone Disease.

There will be food, drink and entertainment at the finish line celebrations and it's all taking place from 3PM at Muscle Garden Health and Fitness, 17 Milton St, Mackay. 🥳

Surelift Crane Hire Pty Ltd based in Moranbah has been a major supporter of the event since it was only an idea..
Without people in the community like Mark Read, those diagnosed with MND within our region may struggle to access the care they so rightly deserve..

Training for the 2022 Moranbah To Mackay Ride For MND continued at 4am this morning for our riders..

Starting the 120km round trip route to Mt Charlton promised to be a cool ❄ undertaking and it didn't disappoint.

2 degrees ❄ greeted the riders just before dawn 🌄 but the hot coffees at the end made it all worthwhile..

Still plenty of time to donate to anyone of the 14 riders participating this year..

Name: Murray Wonnocott
Nickname: Muzza
Age: 54
Occupation: Customer Service Advisor (Paper Shuffler at Cummins)
Hobbies: Making up the numbers in triathlons and getting yelled at by my coach. Spending plenty of time with my family.
Longest Ride: 160km around Lake Taupo (NZ) I had the power of youth on my side back then. Suck in a ride to Airlie beach as well - 150kms.
Why did Murray choose to become a participant: I have a knack of signing up for things at the last minute and not trained enough will see me push my limits.. To raise funds and awareness for MND.
How will Murray go: If I stay quiet and hide down the back I should be ok but Nikki doesn't' miss much.
Greatest Achievement: 2 awesome kids that keep me busy and a lovely lady that has put up with me for years.. Cairns 70.3 2022..
Dream Event: A full distance Ironman Event but the jury is still out.. (All you need is to register, the rest is easy - Ed)

Murray shall blend in quite nicely with this youthful riding group.

Why did Nikki choose to become a participant / Sponsor: Support a good cause and I wanted to support the beliefs of one of my athletes 👏
How do you think you will go: Great training for my next race.
Do you scream at people a lot: Yep..
Greatest Achievement: Everyday life, so lucky to be watching people grow physically and mentally to achieve their goals and my basic mathematics.
Dream Event: Bike packing - race to the rock or ride across the Nullabour (Something a little long).

Nikki trains and coaches the majority of the riders participating in this event. She would never ask something of her athletes that she is not prepared to undertake herself.
