Let’s talk about your ankles. Specifically, your ability to dorsiflex. 👣

Dorsiflexion is the movement of bringing your toes up toward your shin — like when you lift your foot to take a step, or when you squat down and keep your heels on the ground.

It sounds simple, but it's crucial for walking well, especially as we age.
Limited dorsiflexion can lead to:
🔹 Shortened steps
🔹 Shuffling gait
🔹 Poor balance and increased fall risk
🔹 Compensations up the chain: knees, hips, even your back

The good news? You can improve it.
We work on ankle mobility regularly in our classes because it’s one of those small things that makes a huge difference.

Your feet are your foundation- when was the last time you gave them some love? 👣

They carry you all day, every day. They absorb impact, support balance, and set the tone for how the rest of your body moves.
But most of us ignore them… until they start complaining.

Self-massage or release work for the feet can:
✅ Improve balance and stability
✅ Help reduce tension through the knees, hips and back
✅ Wake up your connection to the ground
✅ Just feel really good

Grab a ball (or better yet, grab one of these mini cork rollers from or ), go barefoot, and roll it slowly under each foot. Pause on any tight spots. Breathe. Let go. Your whole body will thank you.

We often start our stretch and release class with this simple ritual — it’s not just about the feet, it’s about moving from the ground up.
