At the same time, abstract submissions are open, and we invite you to start thinking about where your work may fit.

We invite clinicians, researchers, community leaders, educators and policy makers to submit work that strengthens ear and hearing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

The OMOZ artwork was created by Trent Lyon, a proud Yugambeh man from the Wanggeriburra Clan and the artist behind Ngullina Lines.

Trent’s work is known for blending identity, Country and cultural storytelling through detailed patterns, vibrant colours and strong symbolism.

His art represents journey, connection and the deep relationships our communities share with land and each other.

Through this piece, Trent brings culture to the forefront of the OMOZ story, reminding us of the importance of community, listening and coming together with purpose. 🖤💛❤️

in those sound wave like a river sits a freshwater turtle, representing the often silent nature of ear disease in our communities. These conditions can go unseen and unheard, yet they impact lives deeply. 🐢

We are proud to officially introduce OMOZ 2026, bringing together passionate clinicians, researchers, community leaders and advocates who are committed to improving ear and hearing health outcomes across Australia.

Otitis media continues to have a significant impact on children, families and communities, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. OMOZ 2026 is about connection, collaboration and practical action. It is a space to share knowledge, strengthen partnerships and challenge ourselves to do better.

This year’s event will showcase the latest research, innovative service delivery models and community led approaches that are making a real difference on the ground.
