We’ve seen a massive increase in how to hack your nervous system, & as a chiro this is our speciality 💁🏽♀️
The retreat in Bali was very last minute, unplanned, that landed in my lap, exactly at the time I needed it.
This break gave me an insight into how my nervous system was actually coping. Being a holistic chiropractor, my health is my main driver in life. I trust my intuition and make decisions that feel right for me.
Taking a step back from my week to week, showed me areas of my life that need more love.
The weeks leading up, I noticed my nervous system was wound up, I wasn’t allowing myself the space the access my parasympathetic state. The portion of your nervous system, allowing you to rest, digest & heal.
Bali allowed me the space to properly stop - physically, mentally and chemically. Technology free. Mental space. This gave me the biggest insight. When I feel aligned, my inner guidance is strong and clear, the more wound up or stressed I feel, the more I reach out to others to help make simple decisions for me, what do I make for dinner?
Coming home, I trusted the process and slowed down. Gave my nervous system time to integrate back into the world of working to a clock, bright lights and loud noise.
This week I gave myself slower mornings, focusing on integrating breath work and movement. Journaling and releasing the day at night. Trust when my gut is a no (or the chicken iykyk).
This weekend, take time for your nervous system to unwind, be gentle with yourself, create the safety you want to achieve from within.
A week I had no expections heading into has highlighted the most profound changes I needed. This can feel like such a grey area that makes it hard to even to know where to begin.
How to begin small steps to understand the capacity of your nervous system? Ask yourself-
How am I feeling?
What do I need?
How can I give this to myself?
