Queensland X-Ray is proud to once again sponsor Med Rad, the official society for Radiation Therapy and Medical Imaging students at QUT (Queensland University of Technology).

MedRad brings together students from medical imaging and other disciplines, giving them opportunities to connect, have fun, and build networks.

The group recently held a very successful stall at Orientation Week, where they welcomed new students and even handed out some Queensland X-Ray merch.

We wish MedRad every success for the year ahead.

Queensland X-Ray was the largest corporate team, and we are incredibly proud of everyone in our team who participated.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, stood together, and helped make a real difference. We look forward to returning in 2027 and continuing to support research, care, and better outcomes for all women.

This Sunday, 8 March, Queensland X-Ray will take part in the Mater Chicks in Pink International Women’s Day Fun Run to help raise funds for breast cancer research, treatment and support services. We are proud to be the presenting partner of this important event and to support the work of the Mater Foundation.

At Queensland X-Ray, we see firsthand the impact breast cancer has on patients and their families. Supporting the fun run allows us to contribute to vital research and services, and to stand alongside women in our community.

Mel, a Queensland X-Ray team member, was diagnosed with breast cancer in late 2022. Her experience, and the support she received from family, friends and colleagues during treatment, highlights the importance of community during challenging times.

We are proud to be involved in this event, recognising women like Mel and helping raise funds for ongoing research and support.

One month to go until the International Women's Day Fun Run!

On March 8, Queensland X-Ray staff will participate in the International Women's Day Fun Run to support breast cancer research, treatment, and support services. As the presenting partner of this event, we're proud to work alongside the Mater Foundation to make a difference for women in our community.

Among our team is Kylie, an In Charge Medical Administrator at Queensland X-Ray, who will be taking part for the third time. For Kylie, this event is deeply personal. In 2022, she was diagnosed with stage 3 multifocal breast cancer and faced a challenging treatment journey.

“I had the most amazing support from family, Queensland X-Ray, doctors, specialists and my breast care nurses," Kylie said. Last year, Kylie organised a fundraiser at a local Bowls Club and raised over $6,500 to support women with breast cancer.

Supporting the International Women's Day Fun Run not only helps raise funds for vital research and support but is also an opportunity to show those facing breast cancer that they are not alone.

The orientation included workshops and training sessions, with hands-on clinical components such as cannulation practice to help build confidence and essential skills.

With more than 50 practices across Queensland, these graduates will gain experience in a variety of locations, learning best practices in patient care and working with market-leading technology.

Queensland X-Ray would like to extend a warm welcome to our 2026 Graduate Radiographers and Nuclear Medicine Technologists.
