I love helping others, I have done it for a long time before finding myself in this field – now I get to bring my many years of science knowledge together with my training and education, business and family-related skills, into a place for helping many at once, not just a few. I love seeing the ripple effect of my education and support on others – I have seen lives transform after clients have their minerals tested and then realise that they aren’t “broken” and that they have hope for a brighter, happier, HEALTHIER future, that nobody else has been able to help them find. Most people are trying to fix symptoms that are actually safety signals.

Anxiety, fatigue, and histamine chaos often show up when the body feels under-resourced and unsafe.

When minerals are depleted and the nervous system is overloaded, the body stays on high alert — even when life looks “fine” on the outside and we may be told ‘it’s all normal!’.

That’s when you see:
• anxiety that won’t settle
• exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix
• histamine reactions that feel unpredictable

Medication can be supportive for some people — but it doesn’t rebuild the foundations the body needs to feel safe again.

Safety + minerals + nervous system support change the biology underneath the symptoms.

And when the biology shifts, the symptoms often soften.

1.⁠ ⁠Stress burns through minerals. A lot. The effects accumulate over time to create imbalances and more symptoms.
2.⁠ ⁠Lack of minerals recycling in my body due to deficiencies leads to low energy, gut issues, hormone imbalances (& more)
3.⁠ ⁠‘In range’ doesn’t mean optimal.
4.⁠ ⁠Lab reference ranges change over time to cover a wider range (to fit more of us in!) - but our needs for that nutrient haven’t changed.
5.⁠ ⁠We accrue iron in our organs, muscles and tissues even if our blood may seem ‘low’. That buildup leads to symptoms.

Common behaviors I see in long-term low iron:
• constantly feeling cold
• needing more sleep but never feeling rested
• brain fog or slow thinking
• avoiding movement because it feels exhausting

This journey changed everything for me.

There was a time when I felt exhausted, confused, and completely disconnected from my body — while trying to support my daughter through her own health challenges.

I know how isolating it can feel when you don’t have answers, and when you’re told everything is “normal” even though you don’t feel well.

I'm Kristan Kershaw, and I’m a health coach who helps people get out of survival mode by addressing the foundations of health — nutrient balance, mineral status, and nervous system regulation.
I take a root-cause, whole-body approach, because symptoms don’t happen in isolation. When we support the body properly and make small, realistic changes, it has an incredible capacity to rebalance itself.

Here at Supporting Balance, we specialise in helping families and individuals understand how to get the right balance of minerals and nutrients for THEIR bodies.

I don’t believe in extremes or quick fixes. My work is about meeting the body where it’s at, restoring trust, and building health in a way that’s sustainable for real life.

I use my extensive health coaching training and my background in science to help people from all over the world with my virtual consults and test analysis.

I kept asking 'why' and eventually discovered the importance of magnesium. I then went on to discover the importance of other minerals too, and implementing what I've learned has improved our entire family's health.

My youngest is now a tween and can eat pretty much EVERYTHING. She has great digestion, sleeps well and doesn't react to foods.

What is an adrenal cocktail?

It's not something you'd find in a cocktail bar; it's actually a healthy electrolyte drink.

In our health consults, we help people to understand what minerals and nutrients do in the body, why they're important, and how to get the right balance of minerals and nutrients for optimal health.

One of the first things we ask our clients to do is start regular adrenal cocktails.

But why? 👀

Adrenals are little glands on top of our kidneys, and these little things run so many things in our body! The adrenal glands are heavily involved in how we respond to stress, as well as how electrolytes flow into and around the kidneys and into the blood. They help regulate many processes in our bodies. If you've ever had an adrenaline rush (yes, it's all of us) or dealt with stress (yep, also all of us), that is when your adrenal glands are working hard for you.

The more stress you have, the more out of whack our adrenal glands become.

If you've ever heard anyone say, 'I've got adrenal fatigue' it's because those little glands can get really overworked. That's when exhaustion, physical breakdowns, mental health challenges (and so many other things) start to show up.

You don't have a lot left to give and it's often because your adrenals are really not handling things very well.

The adrenal cocktail is a healthy way to support those adrenal glands. It can help you have more energy throughout your day.

Start off with half the recipe pictured.

⛰️ Salt
For the salt, use something like Celtic salt, Himalayan salt or even the Copago salt we sell in our online shop. DO NOT USE TABLE SALT. Avoid processed salt.

It's a bit of an interesting combination, right? You might be thinking, hmm, I'm not entirely sure about how that will taste... it's like tangy, salty orange juice. It's a little strange at first, but after a while, you get used to it.

If it's really revolting to you, don't push through it; try another recipe. Let us know, and we can share some alternative recipes with you. If it's just a bit weird, keep going for a few days, and see how you go. You'll probably find the taste isn't so bad after two or three weeks. If you stop, notice how you're feeling - you'll probably notice it! Maybe you don't sleep as well, maybe you experience an afternoon lull. Pay attention.

In summary, start with half the recipe, and have one every day. Then work your way up slowly to the full recipe, without rushing. If you can, try not to have it with meals, but if that's the only time you can have an adrenal cocktail, it's better than not having one at all. Then you can work up to two per day and see how you go.

Think these symptoms mean “low iron”?

Not always. Typically, it’s actually mineral imbalances at play - magnesium, copper, potassium, sodium - all key to how your body makes and uses energy.
