Real work. Real skills. Real impact.

Makeables supports people with disability to do real, meaningful work.

At our Rocklea and Tingalpa sites, supported employees handle assembly, packing and finishing for businesses across Queensland. From bundling and bagging to labelling and heat-sealing, the team takes on the jobs that keep operations moving while building transferable skills along the way.

If your business has work that needs doing, we would love to talk.

Visit https://multicap.org.au/social-enterprises/makeables/ or call our friendly team on 1300 135 886 to find out more about partnering with Makeables.

Great to be back at COCA Theatre EMP after the Easter break, the room was full of energy and plenty of catching up.

A big shoutout to Emily, who stepped in to lead check-in and supported the session as a Teaching Assistant while our facilitator recovers from an ankle injury.

The group moved through artist-led warm-ups, exploring voice and physical expression, followed by performance work including movement, speech and storytelling development. Participants also spent time refining creative pieces and reflecting through journalling.

Always great to see creativity, collaboration and confidence growing each session.

Great to see local organisations being supported through the latest GCBF round.

Congratulations to Monte Lupo, one of six Ninderry organisations to receive funding through the Queensland Government’s Community Benefit Fund.

Thanks to Dan Purdie MP for the support, and to all those contributing to the Sunshine Coast community.

Six local organisations will share in $164,695.20 through the latest GCBF round.

Congratulations to the successful Ninderry recipients:
Didgeridoo Sailing Limited, Maroochydore Football Club, Monte Lupo, Coolum-Peregian RSL Sub Branch, Saints Rugby Club and C&K - The Creche & Kindergarten Association Limited (Kuluin).

Across Queensland, we’re delivering up to $19.5 million to almost 800 grassroots groups to purchase equipment, deliver essential services, maintain community amenities, and host community events.

Applications for Round 127 open mid-2026, and I encourage any not-for-profit organisation to start thinking about your applications now!

At COCA Capalaba, the large group collage continues to grow.

This quarter, alongside the collaborative piece, artists began exploring a new direction: starting with what they love, and letting those likes to lead somewhere more personal. A favourite colour. A place they remember. A feeling that is hard to put into words.

For artists who communicate without spoken language, this kind of work takes time. It takes patience, careful listening, and a deep understanding of who each person is. Our facilitators come to sessions knowing their artists' histories, their interests, and the small details that open doors.

That is how a like becomes a memory. And how a memory becomes art.

What is Supported Independent Living?

SIL is an NDIS-funded support that helps people with disability live as independently as possible in their own home, with the right level of support around them.

Support can include help with daily tasks like meal preparation, personal care, travel to appointments, and getting out into the community. Every package is designed around the individual, so the level of support can be adjusted to suit your needs and funding.

Multicap provides SIL homes across Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, regional Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

To find out about current availability, call us on 1300 135 886 or visit the link in our bio.

Our new fully accessible homes in Rockhampton are now open.

Purpose-built for people with complex disability, these homes are designed so that up to six local residents can live with greater independence, comfort, and choice.

"These new houses offer a living environment where people can feel safe, thrive and enjoy the dignity of a place that truly feels like home," said Simon Wardale, Interim Executive of Disability, Vertaview Group.

This latest development was supported through a $2.5 million grant received from the Queensland Government, in partnership with participating mineral resources industry parties, the Queensland Resources Council and its members.

We look forward to seeing these homes become part of the Rockhampton community.

Happy Neighbour Day 🏡

Good neighbours show up. They share a laugh over the fence, remember your name, and make a place feel like home.

At Multicap, our Community Hubs are built on that same idea. They are spaces where people come together not because they have to, but because they want to. Where routines are shared, friendships grow, and everyone has a place at the table.

This Neighbour Day, we are celebrating the communities our people build every single day. All ways. Always.

What a week for the COCA community.

COCA is Multicap's active artistic program offering people with disability the opportunity to develop their creative abilities and professional potential, and this week showed exactly what that looks like in practice.

In Capalaba, the collage group stepped back to review their work and what is emerging is extraordinary. Bark pressed into paper, country woven into texture, the words of Aunty Oodgeroo bringing the trees of this land to life.

In Rockhampton, the dancing ladies are back. Wire, foam, fabric and clay, ready to move.
Jordin and Teresa pushed into new positions on the aerial silk with Vulcana Circus.
Pine Rivers filmed self-written, self-directed trailers while honing their skills in film production.

At EMP, the Theatre ensemble had a full session. Emily led check-in, Carlos led the warm-up, followed by improvisation, devising, and early work on a new piece, The Bus Stop.
Creativity, country, courage and community. This is COCA.
