Our new fully accessible homes in Rockhampton are now open.

Purpose-built for people with complex disability, these homes are designed so that up to six local residents can live with greater independence, comfort, and choice.

"These new houses offer a living environment where people can feel safe, thrive and enjoy the dignity of a place that truly feels like home," said Simon Wardale, Interim Executive of Disability, Vertaview Group.

This latest development was supported through a $2.5 million grant received from the Queensland Government, in partnership with participating mineral resources industry parties, the Queensland Resources Council and its members.

We look forward to seeing these homes become part of the Rockhampton community.

Happy Neighbour Day 🏡

Good neighbours show up. They share a laugh over the fence, remember your name, and make a place feel like home.

At Multicap, our Community Hubs are built on that same idea. They are spaces where people come together not because they have to, but because they want to. Where routines are shared, friendships grow, and everyone has a place at the table.

This Neighbour Day, we are celebrating the communities our people build every single day. All ways. Always.

What a week for the COCA community.

COCA is Multicap's active artistic program offering people with disability the opportunity to develop their creative abilities and professional potential, and this week showed exactly what that looks like in practice.

In Capalaba, the collage group stepped back to review their work and what is emerging is extraordinary. Bark pressed into paper, country woven into texture, the words of Aunty Oodgeroo bringing the trees of this land to life.

In Rockhampton, the dancing ladies are back. Wire, foam, fabric and clay, ready to move.
Jordin and Teresa pushed into new positions on the aerial silk with Vulcana Circus.
Pine Rivers filmed self-written, self-directed trailers while honing their skills in film production.

At EMP, the Theatre ensemble had a full session. Emily led check-in, Carlos led the warm-up, followed by improvisation, devising, and early work on a new piece, The Bus Stop.
Creativity, country, courage and community. This is COCA.

This week is Neurodiversity Celebration Week and we're proud to support neurodivergent people across our services every day.

At Multicap, we know that neurological difference is a strength. Our community hubs, employment programs and support services are designed around the individual, because no two people are the same, and that's exactly the point.

Recently, we welcomed the team from Austbrokers Comsure for a volunteer day with Multicap.

Their involvement went beyond lending a helping hand. By spending time alongside the people we support, they contributed to meaningful social connection, shared experiences and moments of genuine engagement. Opportunities like these help build confidence, strengthen community inclusion and create positive, lasting memories.

Corporate volunteering plays an important role in expanding opportunities for people with disability to connect with the wider community in practical and empowering ways.
