Walk for Awareness– A Huge Success!

On Saturday, 11 October 2025, Care to Change laced up their walking shoes for the Walk for Awareness, and what an incredible day it was.

We’re thrilled to share that we raised just under $2,000 for this worthy cause, supporting greater awareness and care for mental health in our community.

A massive thank you to Kerri-Anne Dooley MP, Member for Redcliffe, for coming along and showing her support. We’d also like to thank the little bean coffee float for keeping us energised and caffeinated throughout the day. Your support means the world.

A special thank you to Bailando Balloons Brisbanefor the beautiful balloon arrangement that made the day even more vibrant, and to Nathan from Mores Creative for capturing the event with his fantastic photos.

We even had some of our Care to Change team members complete the walk all the way from Thailand, showing that no matter where we are, we can all take steps to support mental health awareness.

To everyone who showed up and completed the 9km walk, thank you. The atmosphere was filled with positivity, encouragement, and a true sense of community. Together, we proved that every step counts when it comes to raising awareness and supporting one another.

Here’s to continuing the conversation, reducing stigma, and walking side by side for mental health.

“We believe no one walks alone.”
That’s the message behind Team Care to Change, a local organisation supporting people with disability and now walking 9km at Walk for Awareness to honour the nine Australians lost to su***de each day.

With 1 in 5 Australians experiencing mental illness, their mission is both professional and personal: to bring compassion, connection, and awareness to their community.

“These are not just numbers, they’re loved ones, family members, and friends. We walk so that fewer families know this pain.”

They’ve already raised $1,500 toward their $10,000 goal for Mental Awareness Foundation .

Help them take the next step in creating real change: https://walkforawareness.org.au/page/CaretoChange

Care is not just in what we do – it’s in how we connect. A Day in the Sun was more than sunshine and smiles, it was a chance to walk alongside each other and share in the spirit of belonging.

It was the kind of day that feels made to be remembered, with clear skies, gentle breezes, and the perfect amount of sunshine to crown a well-earned break

Today is R U OK? Day, a powerful reminder to check in with your colleagues, friends, and family.

Just like your cup, your wellbeing needs filling too. Whether it’s a walk, time with loved ones, or simply pausing to rest - take a moment to care for yourself and for others.

Join us on 11 October for our Walk for Mental Health Awareness, as we continue to support one another and raise awareness together.

Because a small conversation, or a simple act of care, can make a big difference. 💛
