What would we do without the awesome Stepping Stone North Social Rec on an Easter Saturday. 🐣😊😀☀️We are all very grateful as members to be part of, otherwise we would have been really bored by ourselves. 🫩

We started with our free BBQ courtesy of the Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust at Scarborough as a group. 💦 Some people went for a dip in the water, some went for a walk. 🚶‍♂️It was a such lovely day with blue skies and company. 🩵

Here are what the members thought:

Brendan: I enjoyed the BBQ, walk and brownies. 😃

Margot: Really had a nice time enjoying the stunning weather and the scenery. 😇

Linda: It was a lot of fun getting vitamin D and seeing the sparkling water. ☀️💦

Tash: I couldn’t be anymore grateful to relax, go for a swim and having a BBQ. 🕶️🐚🙌🤩

What a wonderful day to end it off!

And dont forget the social rec on Easter Monday from 11am to 2pm at the clubhouse.

Thank you so much for our grant to ensure our community of members at Clubhouse celebrated together and enjoyed a wonderful BBQ feast to kick off the Easter long weekend. 🐣🐰🍫💝

We also have so much fun planned for social recreation on Saturday and Monday public holidays to reduce isolation & spend quality time together over a period where many organisations are closed. We couldn’t do it without the support of the .lordmayor who we know is one of our biggest supporters!!! 🙏💜

This week we welcomed Louisa from the Caboolture Medicare Mental Health Centre in for a tour and a freshly cooked Nourish lunch 🥗

🩵 It was a great opportunity for us to spread the Clubhouse word and how we support people living with mental health challenges. We showed her around our Clubhouse, explained our Work Ordered Day and Social Rec programs as well as all the other awesome things we offer.

🩵 When we all sat down for lunch together it was also the perfect opportunity for our members to share with her what they love about Stepping Stone North and how the Clubhouse has helped improve their lives.

🩵 Louisa also shared with us the FREE services and programs the Caboolture Medicare Mental Health Centre offers the community that live in their catchment. Some of these include peer led walk in support, psychosocial support, clinical care coordination, therapeutic and psychoeducation groups for people over 18.

Another great social rec we had this week!

Happy Saturday Afternoon, everyone!
Today we had a fantastic crew of 11 Northside Steppers join us at Ennogera Reservoir. Split into two small groups, Brendan, Helen, Andrew & Kane got to see some incredible animals up close and personal, including lizards, snakes, little bilbys and even some prehistoric crocodiles!
Eve led our second group along a lovely 5 kilometre walk around the water, and through the dense lush forestry, which, coupled with some delicious coffees and Ricer Paper Rolls upon completing the trail, made this one amazing social rec Saturday. It was truly special.
Thank you so much for all who joined us today, and we hope you enjoyed getting out in nature for the day. It was an absolute pleasure spending time relaxing under the tall trees and, thankfully, not too hot sun.

Social prescribing recognises that health and wellbeing are shaped by more than clinical care alone. Access to supportive communities, purposeful activity, and genuine human connection matters — and the Clubhouse model brings this to life in practical, person‑centred ways.

On this International Social Prescribing Day, we celebrate our members, staff, partners, and the broader community who make this work possible — and reaffirm our commitment to connection as a pathway to wellbeing and recovery. 💚

🩵 Social Rec Saturday at Stepping Stone North 🩵

Today we headed out on a bit of an adventure!

We made some yummy healthy ham, salami and salad wraps and headed to Kalinga Park for a picnic and a walk . 🧺🌳

🚞 Then we jumped on the train and headed in to the Valley to have some fun at Netherworld where we enjoyed playing some old school arcade games and pinball machines 👾🕹️.

After that we went for a walk around the Valley before hopping back on the train back to our car.

We may or may not have made a little detour to Baskin Robbins for icecream on our way back to the Clubhouse. 😉🍦

We all agreed it was great to get out and do something together that we wouldn’t normally do and spend time with others. It was a fun day!

🎂Happy 2ND Birthday Stepping Stone North!!🎉

🎁What a wonderful Birthday we had yesterday, celebrating with members, staff and visitors. It was a great opportunity for us to reminisce on the years of work put in to opening our Chermside Clubhouse,🏡 as well as taking the opportunity to be grateful for the supportive community around us. 😀 Touching stories from members and staff about what Stepping Stone North means to them and great conversations and laughs were enjoyed by all.
🎊Our members and staff did so much work preparing for our special day so a huge thank you to everyone for putting on such a successful party! Before we know it we will be 3!!

A special thanks also to our friends and supporters from Councillor Danita Parry’s office; Bart Mellish MP, Casey and Janet; Data #3 Limited , Colleen from Brisbane City Council and our long time supporters Gavin and Karen Bird.

Here’s what a few of us thought about the day:
🌻Luke - food was great. Was great how many people showed up and helped.
🌻Jacqui – it was great having Bart and his team from our local office come and help. I love that I can catch up with members I don’t get to see every day. Loved that Data #3 came along too 😊
🌻Miranda – what a great turn out!! Everyone put in such an amazing effort!! Well done.
🌻Helen – even though I arrived late, the food was great, the cake was lovely and colourful.
🌻Nick – it was great to see members who had never met conversing with each other
🌻Mel – the speeches were beautiful.
🌻Emma – I liked seeing everyone work together as a team and having everyone together as a group.

The similarity between a Pub Choir and the Stepping Stone Clubhouses is an irony not lost on us. In a choir, the conductor guides each participant in their unique part; individuals give their all and, when brought together, something magical happens.

So too in our Clubhouses. Our staff guide members as they choose the roles that resonate with them, and these individual contributions—when woven together—create the daily magic of Clubhouse life.

Our members discover talents they never knew they had, and by working side by side with one another and with staff, they create something truly beautiful. Every day, we make music together in our Clubhouse—just not always with instruments
