As the end of year is approaching, it’s only natural that so much is happening all around us.
By the end of the day, do you feel so exhausted and burned out, skin feels dry and papery?
I know that feeling after 8 hours of physical work in these conditions.
Given the heat wave and high temperatures currently, I practise self care and self regulation through hydration with water and some hydralyte mixed together, these restores lost minerals in our bodies.
Secondly skin hydration through constant application of skin barrier creams or gels that help protect your skin against harmful UV rays, the dirt in the air from exhaust fumes etc.
I am an advocate for skin care and body care because through my line of work previously as a FIFO utility travelling to many beautiful and harsh environments, my skin has suffered many times. Understanding the nature of the job I do as a cleaner is important and I must ensure I have adequate sleep, hydration, exercise and eating healthy lite meals are a necessity.
So a typical work day begins with prepping my outdoor wear.
A hat, water bottle, lip balm, skin barrier lotions, lite cool foods like frozen grapes are also a way to keep your palettes good and anything I think is essential gives me peace of mind.
Stay cool out of the heat, take micro breaks under shade if you feel overheated, listen to your body to avoid heat stress and heat stroke.
Stay hydrated and have a wonderful day.
