TEAM GRAYMIND - our dietitians, that’s right we offer more than just psychology! |

At GrayMind, our nutrition support is never just about food. You won’t just be offered a meal plan and sent on your way.

It’s about creating a whole new relationship with food and your body.

It’s about untangling the stories you’ve carried around eating, weight, and self-worth.

It’s about learning to listen to your body without fear or judgment.

It’s about being supported by a team who understands that true nourishment is physical, emotional, and psychological.

Our in-house dietitians work collaboratively with our therapy team to offer care that is holistic, evidence-based, and integrative. Well aware that to treat your relationship with food you need both.

All of our dietitians are credentialed eating disorder clinicians and have a breadth of experience in the space of disordered eating, eating issues or concerns, picky eating, and body image.

If you’re ready to explore a more integrated approach to food, body, and wellbeing - both Chelsea Powell and Sarah Why are accepting new clients. Kate Lane, our senior dietitian, is currently on maternity leave.

GRAYMIND SPACES - in case you needed a nudge to attend therapy, we just gave you one 😉 |

We get it. Therapy can feel like a big task.
A bit daunting. A bit unknown. A bit of a leap of faith, to trust this person and this thing could actually make a difference.

And maybe it just starts here. With a beautiful, calming, collecting, grounding space. One you feel drawn to, that could be just the right holding and just the right environment to begin this whole new journey.

We can’t promise it won’t be hard, and it won’t require courage at times but we can endeavour to be the safe place through it all.

Reach out to us if you feel pulled to do so, we are ready to welcome you ✨

GRAYMIND SERVICES - announcing ADHD assessment offerings 🙌 |

Georgia Marsh, clinical psychologist & neuropsychologist (yes she is impressively both!), has opened up a full day for ADHD assessments.

Curious as to whether you meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD? And how you might begin to integrate management strategies if you do? Or even gotten a recent referral or recommendation to go down the assessment pathway and thought a psychiatrist was your only option?

Well if you answered yes, you’re in luck. Our ADHD assessment service offering is now available on Thursdays with Georgia through GrayMind.

You will be supported through a comprehensive and thorough interview and assessment process, as well as a report detailing how you can help manage these differences if you do meet the criteria.

Please note this service is not available through our online portal. Book via call or email to reception, links in bio

ASK A GRAYMIND THERAPIST - couples habits & which to break! |

In our couples therapy work, we often get asked what’s one of the most common habits that you really see impacting couples the most? The one thing that could be a real game-changer for a relationship if people focused on?

It’s the level of daily disconnection.

So many couples are living their week like ships passing in the night. They might be cohabitating but they sure aren’t doing it with connection, tuning in and aware of one another’s emotional needs.

And we get it. Life is hectic! We are all surviving the week, but here are our small and manageable tips to shift your week from a state of disconnect to connected.

Save these for a chat and goal setting with your partner. Or better yet send it to them to get the conversation started!

TEAM GRAYMIND - meet our admin & client support |

Lilly (Practice Manager), Marie, Abbie and Ebony (not pictured) are your first point of contact at GrayMind Psychology.

Starting therapy can feel unknown and daunting. And that’s why our client support team play a pretty crucial role in the whole process for you.

They are the steady, familiar presence guiding you through those initial unknowns. From your first enquiry to your first session, they help match you with the right therapist, answer the questions you might hesitate to ask, and ensure you feel supported every step of the way.

Each of them brings a genuine interest in psychology, alongside their own academic training in the field, meaning you’re met with both warmth and understanding from the very beginning.

If starting therapy feels overwhelming, this is where it becomes more approachable. Our client support team is here to make the process that little bit easier.

Reach out now to one of our comforting staff, we are currently accepting new clients to the practice.

SPEAKING HIGHLIGHT: redefining balance for the working women with |

International women’s day was spent challenging the myth of “doing it all” with GrayMind’s director Meghan Gray at long lunch.

Her key takeaway:
Balance isn’t equal distribution across life domains.
It’s intentional prioritisation.
The ongoing flexible choice of where your energy goes based on your values.

When women stop trying to do everything out of gendered & societal pressure, they can start choosing what actually matters.

Grateful to share this conversation with a community of women who are building, leading, caregiving, and growing. Often all at once.

Thank you Simone for creating spaces where these conversations can happen.

So you’re six weeks postpartum (and probably starting to feel 😵‍💫)…and suddenly thinking now what? Who the hell do I turn to now? |

Pregnancy: constant support.
Postpartum: see you in six weeks & then nothing.

And that’s the one of the big pitfalls in how our medical care system is set-up for mothers. That the time we need it the most (hello matrescence!!) the care is not readily available.
Many parents experience what feels like a postpartum cliff of support.

Postnatal therapy can become one of the supports you intentionally build back in, a space to process the transition, regulate the overwhelm, and feel less alone in early parenthood.

Because support shouldn’t end once the baby arrives.

TEAM GRAYMIND - announcing a new psychologist on the team, Olivia Drake-Brockman |

We’re a little late on the introductions here for our lovely new Olivia and you have probably seen her name and face in our team for a while now (2 whole months eeeek!)

But it’s never too late to get to know our new psychologist, because hey she might be the right one for you!

THE WHO. Olivia offers a trauma-informed and neuro-affirming way of practicing, which underpins the relational and attachment-based frameworks she draws on as a psychologist.

THE WHAT. She has a particular interest in supporting those experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, and eating disorders.

THE HOW. Olivia likes to work from a place of collaboration, curiosity, authenticity, and with an analytical lens. Within the eating disorder space, she likes to focus on helping individuals separate the disorder from their identity and move toward a more compassionate and embodied relationship with food, body, and self.

Sounds good?

The reminders I wish someone told me when I first became a mother |

Because the cascade of guilt, pressure and fear was as instant as the all-consuming love, devotion and joy.

I couldn’t believe how much pressure I felt instantly to be the most perfect mother my child had ever had. A mother that knew exactly what my baby needed, never got it wrong, knew the things that would mess them up, was on top of it all, was calm, was patient, was just THE ultimate mother.

I see now we live in a society where the perfect mother myth creates and sets up this narrative for us from the instant we leave the hospital. A constructed ideal portraying motherhood as a selfless, natural, and inherently fulfilling state where women unconditionally prioritise our children above all else. It sets unattainable standards for us resulting in just a whole lot of guilt.

These are the reminders I needed to challenge the perfect mother myth. Maybe these are just what you or a friend need right now too 🤍

Meghan Gray of GrayMind Psychology

GrayMind Psychology is a boutique psychology practice that works with couples, individuals and adolescents to enrich their lives. We are located in Paddington, an inner city suburb of Brisbane, and use the most modern psychology approaches that can create sustained change for you.

From the wait-room to your time in each of our therapy rooms, we have consciously created a uniquely tailored, enriched and nurturing therapy environment. Our detailed space is created to support your sense of comfort, safety, and containment from the moment you step in.

Many people attend therapy with the goal of being happy, finding their attempts to do so on their own have left them feeling stuck. We all struggle with unhelpful thoughts, difficult emotions or unpleasant memories, and often our attempts to get rid of these internal experiences can leave us feeling worse. Here at GrayMind Psychology, we have expert psychologists who can help you change your relationship with your thoughts and feelings.

Helping you to work through those ‘inner tangles’, we are committed to using only evidenced-based techniques to give you actionable steps to create a fulfilling and meaningful life.
