Meet Valmai - our January calendar star! 🌟​

At 86, Valmai has been bringing her community together for 70 years as a CWA member, hosting morning teas, packing care bags for domestic violence survivors, and baking up a storm.​

Despite gradually losing her central vision over 30 years, Valmai still cooks from memory and feel (with a little help from her Dovida carers Judy and Donna).​

🎉Incredible news! Our Dovida Gold Coast & Northern Rivers team has won a national award for their Parkinson's Support Groups at the 2025 Inside Ageing Future of Ageing Awards.

The monthly sessions bring together people living with Parkinson's and their families, combining gentle exercise with expert presentations from neurologists, speech pathologists, and allied health professionals. What started with 14 participants has grown to 60, with a second thriving group now running in Murwillumbah.

The program runs entirely on community goodwill, creating meaningful connections and linking participants to vital support services.

We're also celebrating our National Client Experience Manager Amy Devlin's Highly Commended recognition in the Emerging Leader category, and our Dovida Brisbane South & Redlands finalist position for their Energise and Socialise program.
