🎗️ October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Every day, 58 Australians unfortunately hear the words: “You have breast cancer.”
The good news? More people are surviving than ever before 🩷
That’s thanks to early detection, ongoing research and advances in medical imaging.

Here’s how breast cancer can be detected:
🌺 A clinical breast exam with your doctor
🌺 Mammography (breast X-ray)
🌺 Breast MRI for high-risk patients
🌺 Ultrasound to explore suspicious changes
🌺 Biopsy to confirm a diagnosis
Knowing what’s normal for your body and staying breast aware is still the most powerful tool for early detection.

Speak to your GP if you’ve noticed any changes, even small ones 🩺.

💛 March is Endometriosis Month and is an important time to raise awareness for our sisters, mothers, aunties, partners, friends and daughters who are suffering from this chronically painful condition. 💛

Endometriosis is often a misunderstood and overlooked condition that 1 in 7 women suffer from. By raising awareness, we can help support these women by helping them feel seen and heard as well as sharing knowledge to those who don’t yet understand the facts about Endometriosis.

Advocating for Women’s Health is at the core of what we do at Diagnostic Imaging for Women and we’re here for you and your health journey.

With the mammograms performed at our clinic during October, we’ve raised valuable donations for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Every scan not only helped in early detection but also contributed to life-saving breast cancer research.

Your commitment to health and support for the cause brings us one step closer to a future without breast cancer.

🌸For every diagnostic mammogram performed at our clinic during October, we will donate $5 to support vital breast cancer research with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).

Do you know the difference between screening and diagnostic mammograms?

They are performed using the same type of machine, but they have different intents. Screening mammograms are performed on women 40 years or over to detect possible signs of breast cancer, before they experience symptoms of the disease. Diagnostic mammograms are performed to more closely examine the breast tissue, typically following symptoms or after a screening mammogram shows suspicious results.

Early detection saves lives. Chat to your GP for a referral and book your mammogram before the end of October in support of the NBCF.
