What a thoughtful gesture from a newly transferred client!

Yesterday, I met with a gentleman who had purchased hearing aids from another provider but was dissatisfied with both the service and the sound quality. During our appointment, I took the time to go over his hearing loss, how hearing aids function, and how to properly care for them.

At the end of the session, he said, “I’ve learned more in this one-hour appointment than I have in nearly three years of wearing hearing aids.”

As a token of appreciation, he returned with a beautiful cake for us to share. Moments like these truly make our work meaningful.

Recently, a client was referred to us by a trusted family member—who also happens to be a Clinical Audiologist—to see our very own Sue, our Audiologist here at Selective Hearing. What a fantastic recommendation!

This dedicated client flew all the way from Emerald to Brisbane for a comprehensive hearing assessment and subsequent hearing aid fitting with Sue. And the journey didn’t stop there! He just completed his first follow-up remotely—from the comfort of his home in Emerald.

If your aids are whistling at you, it can be easily remedied by completing the following steps.

Step 1 - Check your domes/moulds/wax guards for wax. Clean/change these consumables for new ones.
Step 2 - Ensure moulds/domes are pushed into the ear as far as possible to create a good seal.
Step 3 - Get your GP to look in your ears for wax. If there is too much wax, this needs to be removed.
