We couldn’t be prouder to cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the Intensive Trauma Treatment Centre with Daintree Psychiatry in Brisbane this week.
To mark the occasion, we were joined by Member for Brisbane Madonna Jarrett MP, Member for Stafford Jimmy Sullivan MP, WorkCover Queensland CEO Michael Pennisi, Brigadier Jennifer Harris, Brigadier David Ward, and other distinguished guests from our partners at WorkCover, Medibank, QBE Insurance Australia, Suncorp, and frontline services including Queensland Police Service, Queensland Fire Department and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS).
The clinic is inspired by Psytrec in the Netherlands, and purpose‑built to support recovery from PTSD, C‑PTSD, Adjustment Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, and Personality Disorders by way of innovative, evidence-based mental health protocols and treatments.
PTSD affects approximately 1–2% of Australians in any given year, and up to 1 in 12 will experience it at some point in their lives. Nearly half of all adults will experience a diagnosable mental health condition over their lifetime. Women experience PTSD at nearly twice the rate of men, and prevalence is significantly higher among veterans, first responders, refugees, and survivors of domestic violence.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who showed up to support this milestone.
