From January 2026, all Australian families eligible for CCS will be guaranteed at least 3 days a week (72 hours per fortnight) of subsidised early childhood education and care.

This landmark change — the 3 Day Guarantee — replaces the Child Care Subsidy Activity Test and means:
✅ Eligible families can save thousands each year
✅ Every child can access vital early learning opportunities
✅ Certainty for families who are working, studying, or looking for work
✅ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families receive 100 hours per fortnight (up to 5 days a week)

At Goodstart, we believe all children deserve the best possible start in life with quality early learning at the heart of what we do. We’re here to help families make the most of these new changes.

Our wonderful Centre Director, Bec, spent the past two days at the Centre Leaders State Conference and the Queensland Goodies Awards Night.
This year’s theme, “Impact”, saw Bec take to the stage as part of a panel alongside two other inspiring Centre Directors, sharing insights on the importance of Safeguarding within our centres. This is something we’re deeply passionate about at Goodstart Nundah.

We’re also thrilled to share that Goodstart Nundah took home the Family and Community Partnership Excellence Award at the QLD Goodies Awards Night.

A huge congratulations to our entire team, we’re so proud of all that we’ve achieved together and the positive impact we continue to make for our families and community every day.

Preparing children for school is about more than learning numbers and letters 🧠 It's about building the skills and confidence to take on challenges, big and small.

One of the most powerful of these is resilience – the ability to bounce back, adapt, and keep trying when things don't go to plan.

Resilience is not only crucial for the early years; it's a skill children will carry with them into primary school, secondary school, and throughout their lives.

Our programs encourage children to:
🍎 Have a go – taking safe risks and trying again helps build resilience and confidence.
🍎 Think critically – learning how to question, problem-solve and explore.
🍎 Be active learners – engaging all their senses and staying curious.
🍎 Use imagination and creativity – developing new ideas and possibilities.
🍎 Consolidate in depth – taking time to practice, reflect, and build on what they've learnt.

By nurturing these characteristics of effective learning, we help children develop persistence, resilience, and a love of learning that carries them into school and beyond. 💛

Did you know there are many different ways we support communication at our centre, our educators are trained in using Key Word Sign. We have also developed our own visual aids that our educators have on of them at all times. These different techniques in communicating are also used by the children to communicate to each other. Inclusion makes a difference to all.
