⚠️NORTHERN BEACHES COVID-19 CLUSTER UPDATE - RESTRICTIONS BACK FOR GREATER SYDNEY, ILLAWARRA-SHOALHAVEN, BLUE MOUNTAINS AND CENTRAL COAST⚠️

NOTE: The Illawarra-Shoalhaven has been named as under restrictions since the 11am
announcement.

This is the current situation with the Northern Beaches COVID-19 cluster, per the 11am update on 20/12/20.

Please note, the restrictions DO NOT apply to Newcastle or the Hunter region. I am detailing the entire situation for clarity.

- 30 new cases from 8pm December 18 to 8pm December 19. All are located in the Northern Beaches and 28 have been directly linked to the cluster.

From midnight tonight to midnight Wednesday 23 December (the end of the Northern Beaches lockdown):

- No more than 10 visitors in homes
- Indoor venues return to 4sqm rule with a maximum of 300 people e.g. pubs, places of worship
- No dancing except for up to 20 in a wedding party
- No singing or chanting expect for places of worship to a maximum of five people

Whilst this does not directly effect Newcastle and the Hunter we need to not be complacent as we have seen a case travel through our region.

Information about the latest COVID-19 case locations is being regularly updated at
https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates.

Anyone in the state with even the mildest symptoms such as headache, fatigue, cough, sore throat or runny nose, is asked to come forward immediately for testing, then isolate until a negative result is received.

There are more than 300 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW, many of which are open seven days a week. To find your nearest clinic visit https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/how-to-protect-yourself-and-others/clinics or contact your GP.
