Motivate Kids

Motivate Kids Motivate Kids provides tailored OT for your child to be supported to unlock their greatest potential. We walk you through this process step-by-step.

At Motivate Kids we know the thing you want most right now is a clear plan of where your child is at, the journey to come and an idea of the destination. You too will learn along the way so that you can more confidently understand your child, their therapy plan and implement it too. You will gain clarity and have that feeling of “I’ve got this.”

You need someone who keeps everyone on the same page so that home and school, or kindy / child care, pull together in a way to create a therapeutic life for your child. Nothing will be missed along the way. So imagine that feeling when you see your child succeed at things they’ve never done before. To see them happy and engaged and to see that their progress overflows out of therapy and into their daily lives. This is all held together by someone who specialises in “sensory integration” Occupational Therapy. Someone who is as passionate about your child as you are. Someone who will challenge them “just enough” to make progress that is worth celebrating. This someone has to be fun, uplifting and bursting with knowledge. It is important for you to feel heard, appreciated and empowered as you undertake this journey and to be surrounded by a community of like-minded people who have your back. These people have not walked in your shoes but they sure have had their own journey. We can learn from each other and realise, we are not alone. Its time to stop surviving and start thriving. Having stability in life to release the pressure is essential. At Motivate Kids we know exactly where you are at right now and how to help you and your child move forward. After all, “it’s about supporting children to live their best lives” – Motivate Kids

We know that every child experiences the world in their own unique way.

A Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) gives a clear picture of your child’s strengths, challenges, and support needs at home, at school, and in the community.

Conducted by our experienced Occupational Therapists, an FCA helps identify what your child needs to participate more independently and confidently in daily life. It can also support NDIS funding, school planning, and long-term goal setting.

If you’d like to book an FCA or just find out more, we’d love to hear from you.

We always love welcoming the wonderful Kate Mudge to Motivate Kids.

This session with our team focused on how, as OTs, we can best support schools and the incredible teachers who show up every day with so much care and dedication for their students.

We believe the most meaningful progress happens when therapy extends beyond the therapy room. By sharing practical, evidence-informed strategies with educators, we help children carry their skills into the environments where they learn, connect, and grow.

Because when families, therapists, and teachers work together, children have the best opportunity to feel confident, capable, and ready to learn.

This Neurodiversity Celebration Week, let’s take a moment to see, support, and celebrate every child for who they truly are.

When children feel understood, supported, and valued, they can shine their brightest in their own unique way.

AI is everywhere right now, in our phones, our work, even our homes. And yes, we use it too.

We thoughtfully integrate AI to support what we do helping us plan smarter, track progress, and create better resources for families. But here’s what never changes: the heart of our work is human.

Real connection. Real relationships. Real understanding. Real OTs.

Because no technology can replace a child feeling seen, supported, and celebrated in the moment. AI supports our practice, but it will never replace the people at the heart of it.

Learning how much pressure to use isn’t something children just “know.” It’s a skill, and like any skill, it develops with gentle practice and lots of patience.

If you’d like to try something simple at home, here’s a playful idea: Living Room Curling

1. Tape a target on the floor or place a basket at one end of the room

2. From a start line, slide a pair of rolled-up socks toward the target

3. Take turns and see who can get closest

4. Play around with pushing softer… then a little harder

Just like curling, it’s not about being fast. It’s about finding that “just right” amount of force. And the best part? Your child is building real-life skills in a way that feels safe, fun, and connected.

Not every Valentine needs hearts and candy.

Some just need gentle words and care.

Today we’re celebrating effort, growth, and the little wins that matter most.

Here’s to small steps, taken with lots of love and celebrating where your child is right now.

Watching the Winter Olympics and wishing you could snowboard too?
Good news your living room totally counts!

Snowboarding is really about staying balanced while your body reacts to what’s happening around you. Children practice these same skills every time they balance, reach, catch, or respond even if it doesn’t look like “therapy.”

Try this at home during an ad break (or anytime they want a little play break):
Have your child stand on a cushion or sit on a yoga ball, then gently toss soft toys to catch. Keep it playful, keep it easy, and let their body do the work.

Your child’s body is learning, even when it looks like play. Save this for an easy at-home idea and view more here:https://www.motivatekids.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Motivate-Kids-Olympics.pdf
