Motivate Kids

Motivate Kids Motivate Kids provides tailored OT for your child to be supported to unlock their greatest potential. We walk you through this process step-by-step.

At Motivate Kids we know the thing you want most right now is a clear plan of where your child is at, the journey to come and an idea of the destination. You too will learn along the way so that you can more confidently understand your child, their therapy plan and implement it too. You will gain clarity and have that feeling of “I’ve got this.”

You need someone who keeps everyone on the same page so that home and school, or kindy / child care, pull together in a way to create a therapeutic life for your child. Nothing will be missed along the way. So imagine that feeling when you see your child succeed at things they’ve never done before. To see them happy and engaged and to see that their progress overflows out of therapy and into their daily lives. This is all held together by someone who specialises in “sensory integration” Occupational Therapy. Someone who is as passionate about your child as you are. Someone who will challenge them “just enough” to make progress that is worth celebrating. This someone has to be fun, uplifting and bursting with knowledge. It is important for you to feel heard, appreciated and empowered as you undertake this journey and to be surrounded by a community of like-minded people who have your back. These people have not walked in your shoes but they sure have had their own journey. We can learn from each other and realise, we are not alone. Its time to stop surviving and start thriving. Having stability in life to release the pressure is essential. At Motivate Kids we know exactly where you are at right now and how to help you and your child move forward. After all, “it’s about supporting children to live their best lives” – Motivate Kids

The early months as a parent to a newborn are full of love… and a lot of questions, overwhelm and emotions. Feeds, naps, sleepless nights, endless laundry and the gentle hurdles of everyday life can leave even the most confident parent feeling unsure.

We see you, we hear you, and we have something small but powerful coming very soon.

After spending extra time together over the end of year holidays, going back to school can be tricky period for little ones, and it’s not uncommon for feelings of separation anxiety to show up.

Invisible Strings is a gentle, heartwarming story that helps children understand that love and connection stay strong, even when you’re apart.

Our OTs, love this book because it gives families a comforting way to:
- Talk about big feelings
- Nurture attachment
- Build emotional security

Reading it together can make those first days back a little calmer and help children feel safe, loved, and connected even as the venture out on school or other activities away from you.

Our Holiday Workshops are so much more than just fun (although they also deliver plenty of that!), they’re child-led OT in real life activities.

Each session is child-led and hands-on, helping kids build skills like fine motor control, focus, coordination and confidence, all while exploring their favourite activities like dance, football, boardgames and more.

If group activities have ever felt too busy, too loud, or simply too much, you’re not alone. Many parents share the same quiet worry about whether a group setting will feel right for their child.

Our OT-led LEGO® Club is carefully designed to feel calm, supportive, and predictable. Sessions gently support emotional regulation, clear expectations, and positive social connections without pressure or competition.

Each session supports confidence, problem-solving, teamwork, and social connection in a way that feels safe, inclusive, and encouraging. Children are gently guided to follow rules, take turns, communicate ideas, and work together through shared LEGO® builds.

Being part of a term-based group allows children to build confidence, friendships, and a sense of familiarity through consistent sessions and predictable routines.

We have limited places available at our first Term-based program for 2026. Bookings are still open secure your child’s place via the link in our bio.

Writing or drawing on a vertical surface like a wall, whiteboard, or easel does more than make marks, it helps kids build skills for learning.

Helping kids develop these skills is why we love vertical writing. This writing helps…

Shoulder and core strength – building more stability that helps with handwriting

Wrist and hand positioning – encouraging more efficient pencil grip

Bilateral coordination – using both sides of the body together

Visual attention – keeping eyes, hands and the body working as a team

Posture and endurance – setting kids up for longer writing tasks at the table

And the best part?
It feels like play, not practice!

🏡 If you’re reading along and nodding your head, try this at home:
Tape paper to a wall, fridge or a sliding door.
Then grab out some markers, crayons, chalk or even finger paint and start vertical writing!

✨ Keep it short and fun
✨ Let your child stand or kneel
✨ Focus on exploration, not perfection

We’re committed to focusing on strong foundations that are built through everyday moments. Occupational therapy supports children to feel regulated, capable and confident in ways that stay true to who they are, especially for neurodivergent children.

Support can come in plenty of different forms, and can look like prioritising regulation, following your child’s interests and making small changes that help them participate at home, school and in the community.

As we head into 2026, we just want you to know that you’re not navigating this journey alone. We’re here to support your child and family every step of the way 🤍
