Not sure if natural medicine is right for you.. or where to even begin? You're not alone in that. 🌿

So many of the people I work with came to me after years of feeling like something was off, but never quite getting answers. They weren't looking for a miracle — they just wanted someone to actually dig into why they felt the way they did.

That's exactly what I do.

As a naturopath and clinical nutritionist, I look at the full picture, your symptoms, your history, your lifestyle.. and use nutrition and herbal medicine to help restore balance from the inside out. It's gentle, it's individualised, and it's grounded in both traditional knowledge and modern science.

I have a particular interest in invisible illnesses like chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, IBS, POTS and post-viral illness like long COVID. The ones that are hard to explain and even harder to get support for.

If you're curious but not sure where to start, the easiest thing to do is book a free 15-minute intro call. It's just a conversation - no commitment, no pressure - so you can ask questions and get a feel for whether working together makes sense.

Can we talk about coffee and energy for a minute? ☕🫨

I love a good coffee! A good almond flat white is one of my favourites - but coffee and fatigue can have a tricky relationship.

Caffeine can boost alertness in the short term 🐝, but it also acts on stress hormones and brain chemicals that regulate energy. For some people, this can lead to crashes 💥 and blood sugar ups and downs ⬆️⤵️.

I often ask clients with ongoing fatigue: Do you want a coffee, or do you feel like you need one just to function?

If coffee is holding your energy together, it might be worth exploring what your body really needs. Trialling a break from coffee...even just a month, can reveal a lot. Some people notice little change; for others, it’s life-changing.

Removing caffeine can also give us space to support energy in gentler ways. Nutrition, lifestyle changes, and well selected herbal medicines can help the body’s energy systems without spikes and crashes.

Coffee isn’t bad...it can have real benefits...but understanding how it affects your body is part of a personalised, holistic approach.

Have you noticed coffee affecting your energy? Or is it something you can’t function without? I’d love to hear your experience 👇

Do you know the difference between normal tiredness and abnormal fatigue? 🥱

If sleep isn’t fixing your tiredness, something else may be going on.

People with persistent fatigue may describe it in different ways but here are some guidelines.

If you're still not sure if what you're experiencing is normal then make sure you get in touch for a full assessment where we can have an in depth discussion about you & your needs. DM me 🫶

Ever wondered if inflammation could be behind some of your symptoms?💥

While inflammation isn't inherently bad, in fact it can be mightily protective when short lived💪, low grade chronic inflammation is a problem.😖

So much of a problem that it is the driving force behind multiple conditions and health issues.

AND I'm not just talking about ongoing chronic pain (although this is definately one result of inflammation gone wrong).🫨

Inflammation is linked with...
🔥autoimmune conditions,
🔥mental health issues,
🔥IBS and digestive symptoms
🔥fibromyalgia
🔥post-viral issues
🔥Period pain & endometriosis
🔥Cardiovascular issues and
🔥you guessed it ...chronic fatigue!

If this is you... start with these basics and for more individualised advice jump to the link in my bio to find out how to work with me. 🙂

Do you live with chronic fatigue? 🫶

Then you’ll probably know the constant balancing act of trying to avoid energy crashes and post-exertional malaise ( ). 🥴

Over time I’ve realised that small daily habits make a bigger difference than people think.

Not extreme routines.
Just consistent things that help protect and stabilise my energy.

✨ These are 6 habits I prioritise even on low-energy days.:

🍳 Protein-rich breakfast to help keep energy steady
💧 Staying well hydrated throughout the day
💻 Regular breaks from screens + limiting screens after dinner
☕ Being mindful with caffeine (sometimes avoiding it completely)
💊 Taking key supplements that support my individual needs
💤 Protecting my sleep with a consistent bedtime and wind-down routine

They’re simple but when done consistently they can make a real difference.

Of course there are many other strategies that can help manage fatigue too.

👇 What daily habit helps protect your energy the most?

How many different plant foods have you eaten this week? 🌱

Not just vegetables.. I mean everything that comes from plants:
Fruits, vegetables, wholegrains, legumes, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices 🫛🥦🍓🌾🥜🌿

Research shows that people who eat 30 or more different plant foods per week tend to have a more diverse gut microbiome, meaning a wider variety of beneficial bacteria living in their gut.🦠

Why does this matter?

Because your gut bacteria don’t just affect digestion.
They influence your:
• Immune system
• Inflammation levels
• Nervous system
• Energy production
• Hormones
• Even pain sensitivity

When diversity is low, we often see more gut symptoms, more inflammation and more chronic health issues.

This is especially important if you're living with:
✅ Digestive conditions
✅ Autoimmunity
✅ Chronic pain (including fibromyalgia)
✅ Fatigue syndromes like ME/CFS & Long COVID

More variety = more nourishment for your gut bacteria = better whole-body support.

✨ Your challenge:
Count how many different plant foods you've eaten in the past 7 days and drop your number below!

You might be surprised.

Experiencing trauma can change the way your nervous system responds to future everyday stress and can cause an abnormal nervous system response which can lead to symptoms. 🧠

Rewiring your nervous system response through 🍏diet & lifestyle techniques, using key nutrients & 🌿herbal medicine and engaging in other therapies that support emotional wellness and nervous system regulation are all beneficial ways to support recovery.

Trauma and prolonged stress can leave the nervous system stuck in survival mode, long after the original threat has passed.

Over time, this dysregulation can influence immune function, inflammation, pain sensitivity and energy production… all key players in chronic illness.

By recognising these patterns, we can gently work toward restoring balance 🔄and building a more resilient stress response.

Does this feel familiar in your health journey?

If you’re living with chronic illness and suspect your nervous system is stuck in survival mode, this is something we can explore together.

Dealing with invisible symptoms can be so isolating.

I understand the courage it takes to face each day with symptoms that others can't always see. The pain, fatigue, brain fog and challenges you endure are real, even if they are invisible to the world.

Here's a few reminders for the warriors facing invisible battles:

🌼 Your pain is valid, your struggles are real, and your experiences matter.
🌼 Be kind to yourself. Listen to your body's needs, rest when necessary, and celebrate your small victories.
🌼 Lean on your support system! Whether it's friends, family, or fellow warriors, talking about your struggles can alleviate the emotional burden and create a sense of belonging.

Remember, you are not alone. Your courage in the face of unseen challenges is a testament to your extraordinary spirit. Let's continue supporting one another, raising awareness, and fostering understanding about these invisible symptoms we navigate daily.

Send this post to a fellow warrior to remind them just how strong they are 💗

GUT HEALTH RED FLAGS 🚩

Dysbiosis = an imbalance in your gut bacteria (your microbiome). 🦠

And research keeps showing just how much those “friendly bugs” influence your whole body.

When your normal bacteria are out of balance in your digestive tract, it can show up in ways you might not expect.

Gut imbalances are linked to symptoms affecting your digestion, immune system, energy, mood and inflammation.

Your gut doesn’t just affect your stomach.
It affects your whole system.

Many people with Long COVID experience ongoing digestive symptoms often long after the initial infection has passed.

So what’s the link? 🔗

A large UK study found an increased risk of digestive disorders and hepatobiliary (liver and gallbladder) conditions following COVID-19 infection. 🦠

Reflux (GORD), IBS and constipation were among the most common and most persistent symptoms.
Repeated COVID infections appear to increase this risk even further.

So how does COVID affect the gut?

👉 Research suggests the virus can disrupt the balance of the gut microbiome (your friendly bacteria that support human health).
👉 The digestive tract contains a high number of ACE2 receptors, which the virus can bind to.
👉 In some people, viral particles may persist in the gut even after the acute illness has resolved.

For many, this helps explain why digestive symptoms can appear out of the blue.. or worsen, after COVID.
