I'm a big believer in listening to your body.👂

It was great to get back in the pool this last month after a bit of a break. 🏊‍♀️ They weren't the fastest or longest swims I've ever done, but I did something that felt right for my body.👍

Some days I can swim laps for 30 mins without much of a break 💪 and other days it's all I can do to walk slowly in the water. 🐌

As someone who's always struggled with low stamina and fatigue I've had to become well acquainted with pacing myself.

If you have a chronic illness listening to your body becomes all the more important.❣️ This is harder than it sounds and can be particularly difficult for those who've come from a gym/fitness background of thinking, where you're encouraged to "push yourself" and "stretch beyond your limits".🤔

3️⃣ important lessons I'm learning are...
👉 Focus on what you can do, not on what you can't.
👉 Celebrate what you do achieve (no matter how small).
👉 And don't compare yourself to others

I would love to hear your thoughts on this. 💭

As we move into the new year, a lot of people start thinking about what healthy changes they want to make, especially when it comes to food. 🍏

And while reflection and intention can be helpful, we also know that traditional New Year’s resolutions have an incredibly high failure rate ☹️… particularly for people living with chronic or invisible illness.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, confused, or burnt out by nutrition advice, this post is for you.

Here are a few important things to consider if you want changes that are supportive, realistic, and sustainable, not another cycle of restriction and guilt.❌

✨ Save this for later

I’m so grateful to be back in clinic for another year of supporting your health and wellbeing. 🙏🏼

As a naturopath and clinical nutritionist, my focus has always been on intentional, steady, and sustainable change... especially for those living with complex or ongoing health challenges.

Many of the people I work with have been unwell for years. They’ve seen multiple practitioners, had “normal” test results, tried different approaches, and still don’t feel like themselves. They’re often told there’s not much more that can be done OR left to figure it out alone.

I believe symptoms hold information.🧬 And when we take the time to listen, look beneath the surface, and work with your body (not against it), meaningful progress is possible - even when health feels complex.

If you’re feeling ready for a more holistic, supportive approach - one that offers clarity, structure, and accountability without overwhelm... I’d love to support you in 2026.

✨ Ways we can work together:
• In-person consultations (Wynn Vale, SA)
• Online consultations (Australia-wide)

✨ My services include:
• Holistic health assessments
• Individualised nutrition support
• Herbal medicine guidance
• Lifestyle support that fits your capacity
• Private functional testing options
• Evidence-informed, professional supplement prescriptions

If this feels like the right next step, you can book via the link in my bio.

And if you’d prefer to talk things through first, I offer a free, no-obligation introductory call.📞 Link in bio

You don’t have to do this alone 🤍
I’m here to help you make sense of your health, one steady step at a time.

Weeknight Prawn & Tofu Fried Rice (No Rules Recipe)

I shared this on my stories the other night (apologies for the very average photography 😅) and had a few messages asking for the recipe, so here it is.

This is one of my go-to dinners on hectic weeknights when we’re racing between kids trainings. No exact measurements, just use whatever veggies you’ve got. We love capsicum, carrot, broccoli, peas, corn, cabbage and green beans.

Using pre-cooked (and cooled) rice builds resistant starch, a prebiotic fibre that’s great for gut health. I also keep the rice a little lower and really pack in the veg and protein to make it more blood sugar friendly.

Rough Ingredients (use as a guide)
👉120g (roughly) uncooked rice, cooked & cooled
👉2 generous cups finely diced veg
👉2 garlic cloves
👉A handful of prawns
👉1 x 350g block firm tofu (pressed, cubed, tossed in cornflour, salt & pepper)
👉4 eggs (optional)
👉Soy sauce or tamari
👉1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)

Quick Method👇
Cook eggs into omelettes (optional), slice and set aside.
Cook tofu until golden - pan-fry or oven bake.
Stir-fry veg + garlic, then add prawns until just cooked.
Add rice, tofu and egg.
Toss together with soy/tamari and oyster sauce.

That’s it.

Save this for busy nights, and tell me.. what veggies are you using up in your fridge this week? 🥕🥦🍤

I’m so grateful for another year of being able to support you and so many others on varying health journeys... it truly means the world to me.

This season can be really full and unpredictable, so I hope you’re able to carve out the space you need to rest, reset and reconnect with what matters. ✨

I’ll be away from Mon 22 Dec and back seeing clients Tues 6 Jan 2026.

I know living with chronic illness can feel like carrying so many hidden layers – the losses, the changes, the “why me?” moments no one else sees. ❤️‍🩹

Dave Clark, a friend and fellow invisible-illness warrior, has written some really practical, down-to-earth ideas for carrying that grief a little more gently.

In his second guest blog post he shares things like
🔹stepping in and out of your feelings in small doses,
🔹expressing what’s going on for you in writing or creativity,
🔹creating little rituals,
🔹finding moments of joy, and
🔹connecting with people who truly get it.

These aren’t magic fixes, but they might help you start to make sense of your own grief, or give you ideas for how to cope without being too hard on yourself. I really encourage you to check it out and see what resonates – even one small idea could make a difference.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from supporting hundreds of people with chronic and complex health challenges, it’s this:

Healing rarely moves in a straight line.

There are ups and downs.
There are seasons where everything flows…
…and seasons where life throws curve balls, symptoms flare, or progress feels like it’s slowed right down.

These blips don’t mean you’re going backwards.
They simply mean you’re human and your body is navigating a lot.

This is why ongoing support matters so much.
Because having someone in your corner helps you stay steady when things feel anything but.

✨ Someone to adjust your plan when life shifts
✨ Someone who understands the patterns in chronic illness
✨ Someone who can see the bigger picture when you’re stuck in the day-to-day

I’ve walked alongside many people on long, winding health journeys, and I know the emotional weight that comes with wanting to feel better yesterday. I also know the power of consistency, compassion and a plan that adapts with you.

If you’re ready for support that helps you feel better, get to the root cause of your symptoms, and make sustainable, long-term improvements — I’m here.👋

💚 You don’t have to navigate the journey alone.
Reach out if you’d like to chat about what working together might look like.

✨ New Guest Blog Live ✨
This week I’m sharing a powerful piece from my friend, author, counsellor and fellow health warrior .

Dave opens up about the layers of grief that come with chronic & invisible illness.
The losses we rarely talk about, the identity shifts, the “why me?” moments, and the quiet reshaping of life that happens behind the scenes.

If you’ve ever felt the weight of changes, endings or the unfairness that chronic illness brings… this one will speak to you.

👉 Read the full article on the blog
And keep an eye out for Part 2, where Dave shares the practical strategies that have helped him carry grief more gently over the years.

You’re not alone in this. 💙💜

Well, we’re hurtling towards the silly season ...and while I love this time of year, I also know how challenging it can be if your health relies on routines, rest, and structure.

Special events, cheeky treats, changes in routines, the extra costs — it can all add up and easily tip the balance when you’ve got tricky health issues going on.
You might notice more fatigue, pain, flares, social drain, or anxiety creeping in.

Firstly, you’re not alone. ❤️

Setting boundaries is an amazing start, but also remember these truths:
✨ A special meal outside your norm doesn’t undo all your great habits.
✨ Modifying plans so you can connect without crashing still counts as socialising.
✨ Feeling sad or frustrated about your limits is completely normal.

Your healthy habits and boundaries might be tested — but that doesn’t mean you’ve failed or undone all your hard work. Do what you can, when you can.

Prioritise what’s non-negotiable for your health, and hold the rest a little looser. The boat might get a bit rocky over the next few months, but you’ve got this. 🌊

And if you’re feeling the wobble — reach out.

We can find realistic, manageable ways to help you maintain your progress while still enjoying the season.

If you're not a current client, book a free phone appointment (DM me for the link) and we can have a chat. 😊
