Hatha Yoga - Starting Next Week in Agnes Water

Sun Yoga - Tuesdays 7.15 - 8.15am - Small Hall

Moon Yoga - Thursdays 6.30 - 8.00pm - Big Hall

What does Hatha mean? It is like Yang and Yin. Sun and Moon.

Ha-tha is a Sanskrit term that refers to the merging of masculine and feminine dualities, like yang and yin, symbolised as the sun and moon.

Hatha Yoga represents a dynamic balance of these opposites – masculine and feminine, sun and moon, inhale and exhale, fire and water, strong and yielding, light and dark, hot and cold, soft and hard, active and passive, doing and being.

The Sun Yoga class is a more active, dynamic, warming, energising, strengthening, flowing, invigorating practice, though balanced with quiet grounding and inner stillness.

The Moon Yoga class is a more passive, stilling, cooling, relaxing, quietening, calming, supporting, restorative practice, though balanced with dynamic breath and inner flow.

All welcome. Casual drop in classes No bookings needed. Please bring a yoga mat. Blankets, bolsters, blocks, belts provided.

See attached flier for more details.

Time and space in asana.

TIMING
"When I am in an asana, I go beyond the chronological and psychological boundary of time." ~Guruji BKS Iyengar

Guruji emphasises the aspect of maintaining an asana to build it up, develop and surface the effects and reap its benefits.

As the endurance, power and confidence grows the timing should be increased. Timing is important from the point of view of creating and developing a circulation in the body which is peculiar to the asana.

Timing is not a mere calculation of seconds and minutes one remains in an asana. It is a 'time requisition' made by an asana for its evolution when one matures in sadhana.

When each cell is sensitive to being in the present, it is timing.

YOGA at CAPTAIN CREEK

Starts tomorrow Monday 6pm -7.30pm

EVENING RELAX

This class will be a gentle mix of restorative and yin yoga. The aim of the practice is to relax the body, muscles and fascia, as well as the mind, heart and soul.

We use bolsters and blankets to support us in poses for long holds, allowing us to gradually let go. We use mindful soothing ocean breath to focus our energies. We allow ourselves to soften and release in a safe supportive space.

Suitable for all. Beginners welcome. All gear provided.

Please arrive at least ten minutes early to allow yourself time to get settled in before we start.

https://www.radiantsun.com.au/what-is-yin-yoga/

Yin Yoga is a slow, deep practice that involves holding poses in quiet stillness for longish periods. It aims to relax the muscles in order to gently tension and release the connective tissues of the body – the fascia, ligaments, joints and bones. It is an amazing practice that nourishes and...
