The Year of the Fire Horse

Yesterday marked the beginning of the Chinese Lunar New Year. I’m no astrologer but I have been picking up some great knowledge from those whose heritage is steeped in the tradition of celebrating the lunar new year.

This is what has been shared with me about this upcoming new year.

This is a year for action and dynamic movement.
A year to see projects, ideas and dreams realised.

It’s also a year of self care to ensure that you don’t burnout from this forward moving momentum.

In general it’s a great year for all.
If you are a Tiger or Dog it’s potentially a particularly great year for you.

If you are also a Horse this year can be challenging but also a time to shine in whatever role you have.

My own sign is a Fire Dragon and it was shared with me that this can be a promising year for me in regards to career. As I have fresh ideas brewing already this was great to hear. Also a year I’ll need to steady myself to unfold at a sensible pace.

The all round message I’m hearing is that momentum and energy is abundant this year but we can also run the risk of exhaustion and burnout.

Wishing all a year a vitality and a renewed sense of energy.

No matter how you arrive, all of you is welcome.

If you can, wear loose clothing and if not, please don’t worry. My rooms are always cosy and warm, with blankets and a heat lamp. There is privacy to remove any tight clothing and settle in comfortably on the treatment bed.

You might arrive in a rush, or at your own pace. Either way, there is time here to slow down, exhale, and gently drop into relaxation.

I’ll usually ask if you need the toilet first and yes, there is always time for this. Comfort is important, and I would much rather you take a moment to fully settle before we begin.

Eating within the 4 hours before your treatment can be supportive. Acupuncture moves Qi and Blood, which are nourished by the food we eat. Breakfast is especially helpful, as it breaks the longer overnight fast.

If you haven’t eaten, or you usually fast in the morning, that’s completely okay. I’ll simply adjust the treatment accordingly. Your pulses tell me how your Qi is on the day, so even if you don’t mention it, I’ll know how best to support you.

Your comfort and rest always come first. ✨
