Not all headaches are created equal — and treating them the same way is one of the most common mistakes.
Tension, cervicogenic (postural), and migraine headaches all feel different, come from different places, and respond to different approaches. Swipe through to see which one sounds most like yours.
If your headaches keep coming back or you’re not sure what’s driving them, it might be time to get a proper assessment rather than guessing.

Madison has spent the last 3 months studying this rare Brunswick Chiro specimen in its natural habitat. Her findings on Gerry have been groundbreaking. We're devastated to report she has now returned to the wild (NYC, USA 🇺🇸). She will be missed — but her research lives on.
P.S. Gerry is fine.

POV: Your headache tablet has had enough. 💊

Four days in a row. Same headache. Same “solution”.

Here’s the thing — taking pain relief too often can actually trigger more headaches. It’s called medication overuse headache, and it’s more common than people realise.

If your headaches keep coming back, it might be worth looking at what’s actually driving them — not just what’s quieting them down temporarily.

Headache or migraine — does it actually matter which one it is?

Yes. Because the type changes what helps.

Not all headaches come from the same place. Some start in the neck. Some are neurological. Some are driven by posture, screen time, and stress building up across the week.

Knowing the difference helps you make smarter decisions — not just about whether to see someone, but about what kind of care actually makes sense for what you’ve got.

Swipe through to see the types, what the evidence says about chiro, and the red flags that mean you need a GP or neurologist instead.

Rumour has it that is all about health and prevention these days. It’s never too early - or too late - to get your back seen by a professional.

Cause if we wait 'til we're older, the world (and your body) is gonna change. You know we’re not the same as we were before 🎶😉

As we age, and yes it happens to all of us, things stiffen up or start to wear out. Regular maintenance can work wonders - just ask our chiropractors, osteopaths, myotherapists and remedial massage therapists who see the effects of growing up every day!

🎶 Baby baby baby, oh!

If you like the way you look that much, oh baby, you should go and love yourself 🎶
Let us help you in your self care!

You left feeling better. Then a few days later… it came back.
That doesn’t mean the appointment didn’t work.
There are 168 hours in a week. One appointment is less than 1% of a week.
Think of it like tuning a guitar — we can tune you up in the clinic, but what you do in between affects how long it stays in tune.
Movement, load, sleep, stress — it all adds up.
What happens outside the clinic matters just as much as what happens in it.

Recurring headaches aren’t just frustrating — they’re a signal worth paying attention to.

Most people focus on the pain itself. But headaches are often influenced by a mix of factors — neck tension, stress, sleep, posture, work habits, and nervous system sensitivity — which is why short-term relief doesn’t always solve the bigger picture.

In this post we break down why headaches keep coming back, the different types and what drives them, when your neck might be the real source, and warning signs that need prompt medical attention.

If headaches are becoming a pattern, there’s usually more to the story.

Gen Z notes vs professional chiro report 😂

Most people treat headaches where they feel them. But the source can be from somewhere completely different.
There are 3 types of headaches we commonly see in our clinic - and knowing which one you have changes everything about how you treat it.
Which of these headaches sounds most like yours? Tell us in the comments 👇

Your neck may be under more strain than you realise.
Long hours at a desk can place ongoing load on the neck, which may contribute to certain headache patterns for some people.
Small changes like more movement, better desk support, and noticing early tension signs may help.
You can read more on our blog if this sounds familiar.

Even on our days off, someone always needs an adjustment 🐰 Turns out our most dedicated patients this Easter are about 20cm tall and made of chocolate. We hope your long weekend is full of rest, good food, and zero back pain - and if not, we’re back Tuesday. Happy Easter from the Brunswick Chiro family 🐣

We’ve been reviewing our clinic policies and decided a few changes were overdue. Effective immediately: no chairs, mandatory book balancing in the waiting room, and absolutely no phones. We think you’ll agree these are very reasonable updates. Happy April Fools from the Brunswick Chiro team 🤡 We would never actually take your chairs. Probably.

Our Story

Brunswick Chiropractic consists of a team of like-minded health professionals solely focused on the improvement of their patients' health and wellbeing.

The practice itself has been helping and treating the local community for over 30 years. The current owners, Drs David and Alicia Cannon, are a husband and wife team who strive for excellence in their respective professions, chiropractic and osteopathy. They have a strong patient-centred ethos and have gathered around them a collection of practitioners that share the view that the health and well-being of the patient is paramount. David and Alicia are maintaining and improving upon the quality care that was provided by the previous principal chiropractors, Drs Paul Carless and Alan Freedman.

Here at Brunswick Chiropractic, we want you to be the best you can be, to be able to do what you want to do when you want to do it, and enjoy a full and pain free life. To help you achieve your health goals, we offer a variety of hands-on therapies including chiropractic, osteopathy and myotherapy, and we can cater our treatments to your individual needs.
