Smoke remediation is no joke!

Last week our practice looked a little different.

After the neighbouring fire, smoke entered the practice and we had to temporarily close while a professional remediation team (alongside our incredible team) cleaned and restored the space.

It took a lot of work behind the scenes — consultations had to pause and every nook and cranny needed to be cleaned and restored. But we’re very happy to say Eyecare Plus Buderim is now open again.

We worked through it. We feel like we’ve aged about 10 years in the process! But we’re back and now accepting appointments again.

We’re incredibly grateful for our amazing team who worked through the chaos, and for the beautiful community we serve. The kind messages and support meant so much to us.

Consultations are back (and no, this isn’t an April Fools’ joke).

A huge thank you to our wonderful Buderim community for your patience, understanding and support while we cleaned and restored the practice after the neighbouring fire.

We’re open and here to help with:

Last week was spent cleaning, liaising with insurance, and taking stock after the fire in the neighbouring laundromat.

While we’re incredibly grateful the practice itself was spared, smoke and soot did make their way through, so we’re now carefully working through the cleaning and restoration process.

The most important thing is that our team is safe, and we’re already working towards reopening full consultations as soon as we can.

In the meantime, we’re still here for you in the ways we can be, and we’ll keep you updated as things progress.

And truly, thank you.

For the messages, the kindness, and the support from our Buderim and Sunshine Coast community — it has meant more than we can say.

Important Update

Yesterday afternoon there was a significant fire in the laundromat next door to our practice. While thankfully no one was injured, smoke has entered our clinic and caused some damage.

As a result, we are closed today while the space is cleaned and power is restored.

At the moment we do not have phones or power, so we are unable to take calls but our online booking system is open for future appointments.

Please keep an eye on our social media pages for updates on when we will reopen.
