Morning movement has so many benefits, from increasing circulation, stimulating peristalsis (getting your bowels moving), strengthening your heart, improving skin, lifting your mood and helping with sleep. I'm heading home now to cook up a hearty breakfast to help my muscles recover after a fair workout of stairs and squats. Research shows its important to get a balanced meal with roughly 40g of protein within 30 mins of strenuous exercise - particularly if you're over 50 like me.
