Meet Gillian Webb-Enslin, one of our dedicated Mental Health Recovery Workers at Bridges Health & Community Care.
💬 “I’ve found the Mind-Life resources developed through the Bridges project to be incredibly useful. They offer accessible, down-to-earth tools that support meaningful engagement and recovery-focused conversations in everyday practice. Their practicality really helps bridge the gap between clinical and lived experience approaches, which has been valuable for both myself and the people I work alongside.”
Thank you, Gillian, for sharing how Mind-Life is helping create more human, recovery-oriented care every day.
Did you know that the Mind-Life Mayhem podcast series features experienced practitioners and people with lived experiences? Their conversations open up a way of thinking that shares fresh insights on what the Mind-Life way of thinking and communicating is and the resources that are available for both help seekers and help providers.

At Mind-Life, we stand by a simple truth: “Nothing about me without me.”
This resource reminds us that decisions made about a person’s care, support, or future should always include their voice. It’s about self-advocacy, respect, and creating a genuine partnership between Help Seekers and Help Providers.
By putting this principle into practice, make sure that:
✅ Choices reflect the lived experience of the person at the centre
✅ Conversations are inclusive and collaborative
✅ Help Seekers have real power in shaping their journey
Good conversations build strong connections. That’s why we created the Rules of Engagement — a practical resource that helps Help Seekers and Help Providers communicate in ways that are respectful, clear, and empowering.
This guide supports both sides of the conversation to:
✅ Set expectations together
✅ Build trust and understanding
✅ Make space for lived experience to lead the way

Mind-Life challenges us to “Live” Different, “Think” Different and “Be” Different, outside the perceived limitations caused by the symptoms of mental illness.
This is a wicked problem that has attracted many to want to solve. It requires brave and fearless thinking that can create new ways of living and being.
Mind-Life’s main assumption is that an inability to live and lead a full life is not necessarily or simply because of the symptoms of mental illness, but much more from the reduced opportunities to exercise our human rights and live extraordinary lives.
Whilst our health and community models of service assist people to manage their symptoms better; these models can inadvertently disable a person’s identity, autonomy, and ability to live outside of the illness experience.
Mind-Life boldly disrupts the construct of “psychiatric disability” as we have known it- not by trying to change the person, but by challenging the narrative ,creating resources and hosting events that build opportunities to LIVE different, THINK different and ultimately BE different...
