Our office will remain closed until it can be properly assessed, but we’re still here and ready to support our families in any way we can.
This week may look a little different, and if you have an appointment, we’ll be in touch with alternative options.
Thank you for your patience, kindness, and support, we truly appreciate our wonderful community 🧡

🧡 We know floods can feel scary for children.
After big events like floods, it’s normal for little ones to feel worried, upset, or unsure. Taking time to talk, listen, and read together can help them feel safe again.
Birdie and the Flood, a Queensland Health resource, is a gentle story created to help children understand their feelings and start conversations after a flood.

You can read it together here:

Sometimes a simple story can help little hearts feel a little lighter 🧡

Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out about our Kaha Kids OT therapy space — it truly means a lot to us 🧡
Unfortunately, we have experienced some flooding and are still working to understand the full extent of the damage. In the meantime, we are making alternative arrangements for upcoming sessions and will be in touch soon.
The safety and wellbeing of our children, families, and team is our top priority. Thank you for your kindness, patience, and support during this time 🧡

Due to the current risk of flooding, our office will be closed for the time being.
If you have appointments scheduled over the next couple of days, please don’t worry — we will be in touch as we learn more about the unfolding situation and can make arrangements.
We are still contactable by phone if you need us.
The safety of our families, staff and our community is our top priority. We’re thinking of everyone affected and hope you are all staying safe during this time. 💙

This might just look like swinging and blowing bubbles but this is regulation work in action

The swinging provides vestibular input (movement that helps the brain organise and process sensory information). Blowing bubbles supports breath control and motor oral input which helps calm the nervous system.

⭐️ When the body feels regulated the brain can focus. And when the brain can focus learning can happen ⭐️

🌳OT in the Park 🌳

Climbing frames and slides aren’t just fun — they’re fantastic for building strength, balance, coordination, and confidence 💪✨
Today we made the most of the park, using the climbing frames to work on motor planning and problem-solving, and the slides to encourage turn-taking, body awareness, and brave firsts!

Learning through play, fresh air, and lots of smiles 😊🛝

🌟Feeling Grateful Beyond Words🌟

Today, I just need to take a moment to give a huge shoutout to the incredible team that makes everything we do possible — our amazing admin staff, OTs, and OT assistants. 💛

We’re so grateful for our incredible OT Assistants, who play an essential role in the work we do every day and in helping our clients reach their goals. 💚

In this session our OT assistant Taki is supporting Dominic in a game of Buildzi. Games like Buildzi are a great way to support fine motor skills, coordination, problem-solving, and teamwork — all while keeping therapy engaging and enjoyable.

This week we’re highlighting the creative ways occupational therapists support children’s development through meaningful, everyday activities.

In this session with our new grad OT Bree, a game of Go Fish became more than just a game. It became a way to help Chelsea learn to match clothing choices to weather conditions, practice expressive and receptive communication and build social confidence through turn taking and shared problem solving.
