Lighting the second candle of Hanukkah (the candle in the centre is not getting counted as it is the one that lights the others).

Two flames that represent duality, diversity and the power to bring light into the darkness.

This is to affirm my trust in humanity and our capacity for compassion.

Thank you to everyone that got in touch with kind words and a hug today ❤️‍🩹

What did I learn from Tai Chi?

I learned what it feels like to be a beginner… the anxiety, overwhelm and discomfort of not knowing what you’re doing.

The satisfaction of small wins each week and the delight in progress born from repeated practice over 13 months.

The sense of relative mastery one level at a time and the embodied memory of the entire sequence.

The human connections formed between students and teacher. In class and beyond.

The sensation of chi flow and the joy of moving in synchronicity with others.

It has been a wonderful addition to my personal and professional life.

Thank you Alena and The Australian Academy of Taichi and Qigong for the excellent tuition.

Thank you to all the Bundaberg practitioners who encouraged me and practiced with me patiently every week 💛 🤜🫷💛

The 11:11 portal is here.

This is a numerological alignment that amplifies the vibration of the master number 11, symbolizing intuition, inspiration, and soul-level clarity.

It was obvious that today was special when I got new ideas for my creative writing, some interesting synchronicities of things repeating from exactly a year ago and meeting new like-minded people and lovely new clients.

The Facebook feed was showing me some events in Bundaberg. On the spot I decided to sign up for a stall at Dee’s Mystic Expo this coming Sunday 16 November.

If you feel called to act on this 11:11 spiritual momentum, why not come along to the Expo and check out the artists, healers, readers and amazing crystals? I would love to see you there!

🔮Dee’s Mystic Expo

I will be offering short SIT sessions to demonstrate the power of acknowledging stuck emotions and healing from within. If you know anyone who might be interested, please send them my way.

Shana Tova!

Back from a beautiful family time in Tasmania, here is a short recap.

This fantastic trip was meticulously planned with love to suit our needs and interests. We went to all the best bird watching spots, including Bruny Island and Melaleuca (a luxury day tour for my parents). My dad got to see and photograph most of the endemic Tasmanian birds and several other Australian birds. We even met Little Penguins up close at night, in Stanley.

We did several short hikes in the wild:
On top of Kunanyi (Mt Wellington) we experienced snow. At Cataract Gorge we watched the river raging and breaking its banks. On The Nut we danced in rainbows. At Mt Field we marveled at the giant trees and cascading waterfalls. It was magical.

Yes, it was cold. So naturally we had to eat some delicious treats and keep nourished with local produce from the Farmgate market.

We enjoyed the elaborate art at MONA and checked out the Hobart museum and Launceston QV gallery. Ella did a great job as a tour guide both on the road and in the galleries.

We got to meet some of Ella’s friends and reconnect with some old friends (Thank you Helen for meeting me in Hobart for lunch!).

I went to one yoga class at Folde studio in Hobart, with views to the snow capped mountain and practiced Tai Chi once at the Tamar Valley Wetlands Visitor’s centre platform with White Belly Sea Eagles.

It is still hard to believe that it was only 2 weeks. We did so much!!! And now I am back at home with my sweet cats and enjoying the blossom scented warm air of Bundaberg.

You might be aware that September 22nd is both the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, and the Southern Hemisphere’s Spring Equinox.

It is a special combination, celebrating the natural change of seasons and a new beginning. Just like the changes in nature, it is a good time to reflect, recalibrate, and return to balance.

This is a season to plant intentions, nurture hope, and celebrate the soul’s capacity to blossom.

💗💗💗May this day bring you clarity, vitality, and greater alignment🌿🌿🌿

If you are looking to improve your physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing, you are invited to book in for a Yoga session or a private consultation. I would love to work with you.

Love, Tamar.

Ready to flow?

👉 I am excited to announce that I have added this new Qi Flow class to my schedule.

Since starting to learn Tai Chi late last year, I have been hoping to be able to immerse myself in this practice further. I was wondering how I could bring it into my own life and teaching. In this new class I teach Shibashi 1.

💚What is Shibashi?

Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi Set 1 is a gentle, flowing Qigong practice that integrates Tai Chi principles with breathwork and energy cultivation. It consists of 18 movements, each designed to enhance relaxation, balance, and overall well-being.

💚What are the benefits of the practice?

Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi offers profound benefits for both the physical body and energy system, promoting balance, vitality, and overall well-being.

The gentle, flowing movements enhance circulation of vital energy, ensuring energy flows smoothly through the meridians, which supports organ function and emotional stability.

Physically, Shibashi improves joint mobility, flexibility, and posture, reducing stiffness and tension while strengthening the core and lower body.

It can also regulate blood pressure, boost immune function, and enhance lung capacity through deep, rhythmic breathing.

Regular practice is said to detoxify stagnant energy, revitalize the nervous system, and cultivate a deep sense of grounding and connection to natural rhythms.

💚If you are keen to try it out, you are invited to my home studio for a Qi Flow class.

When: Thursday 12 June, 5pm or Sunday 22 June 9:30am
Where: My place at Svensson Heights
Note: Standing practice. No need for a mat.

(Regular weekly class in Term 3, Thursday 5pm)

There are only 7 spots available. Link in bio.

Stay in the flow! 💜Tamar.

🌄🌄🌄 Mountain craving was back so I headed up to Mt Perry for a Sunday hike. It was a beautiful foggy morning. By the time we got to the top we were hot and sweaty.

🐍🐍 For the adventure of it, we chose to go down a different road. It was a steep fire trail descent and a detour. It was magnificent with sweeping views and some huge trees. By the time we got back to the car we saw 2 little snakes, had a couple of slips and I had very sore knees.

😣😣 Knees! Only last week I was talking about knees in my yoga class. Asking people to be kind and gentle with their knees. And here I am, unable to walk down the few stairs at home without wincing.

I took some homeopathic Arnica and had a good rest (horizontal and reading a book). I did Taichi and a short walk to move the joints. Then I asked Dr Google about my pain and what to do about it.

It did not surprise me that all the offered exercises were our usual yoga postures. Lots of feet and ankle work. Lengthening the thighs, calves and ham strings. Inner and outer thigh practices. All the things we do in class all the time.

I kept resting and minimising walking down stairs for another half a day. My right knee was still tender when my afternoon yoga class time arrived. I ran a 60 mins class and did all the poses with the participants.

Then another 60 mins class after that.

And after that my knee was back to normal. Not a hint of discomfort on going up or down the stairs!

🤯🤯🤯 Ha!

And this morning, after another 60 mins of practice, Jacinta’s sore knee from bursitis improved to the point that she cancelled her physio appointment.

Once again I am amazed at the power and potential of yoga for healing.

So if you have been putting off coming to yoga, this is your sign to take action.

Book a Yoga and Wellness class now.

I would love to see you there and guide you in a gentle yet effective yoga practice!

And if you prefer no knee action at all (standing poses only), my Qi Flow class might be good for you.
