One of the important papers of my PhD now published in Disability and Rehabilitation Journal. This paper identified interlinked factors at multiple levels of the health care delivery system in developing Asian countries that underpin the need for a systems approach to develop and address regional rehabilitation service provision but requires contextually adapted policy.

Invitation to participate in research

Title: Factors influencing access to and participation in rehabilitation and return to work for people with lower limb amputation in developing Asia: perspectives of rehabilitation professionals

Researchers at La Trobe University are seeking volunteer research participants to be involved in a study about barriers and enablers of access to and participation in rehabilitation and return to work with the interest to create an evidence base for improving the life of people with amputation in developing Asian countries.

You May Qualify if You

•Are an adult (≥18 years)
•Have at least one year of working experience with people with LLA in developing Asian countries
•Are currently working as a rehabilitation professional in a developing Asian country
•Are willing to voluntarily consent to participate
•Are able to answer questions in English

Participation involves

If you decide to take part in the research, you would be asked to:
•If you decide to take part in the anonymous online survey you will first be asked to confirm that you have read and understood the informed consent information.
•Once this is confirmed, you will be asked to answer questions to identify if you are eligible to participate according to the eligibility criteria.
•If eligible you will be able to access the rest of the survey questions which relate to your work as a rehabilitation professional and include some demographic and work information (eg. s*x, professional role and education, country of practice, experience in amputation rehabilitation and contextual information about your rehabilitation services.
•Completing the online questions will take approximately 10-15 minutes
•At the end of the survey you will also be asked to indicate your willingness (completely voluntarily) to participate in an online interview via ‘Zoom’ or ‘Teams’ with the researcher at a later mutually agreed time.
•You may just choose to participate in the survey and not the interview or both.

Your decision to participate in research is voluntary.

Reimbursement for participation
There are no additional costs associated with participation in this research study and as a participant you will not be paid.
