Dry needling is a therapeutic technique where thin needles are inserted into tight muscle knots (trigger points) to relieve pain and improve movement, based on Western medicine, unlike acupuncture (Traditional Chinese Medicine). It's used for chronic pain, sports injuries, and muscle dysfunction, causing a twitch response in the muscle to release tension and promote healing.
